i like this cover and i would understand why someone would want someone to fingerpick but i do agree

it is a cover. and it should be done your own way

bubba great feedback but im just going to say that as a guitarist who can play this song the way she does finger picking is a very hard technique that for some takes months to master. It also requires adifferent style of playing that se might not have learned. thats all kay thanks :D

Not saying it's bad. But I'd have more respect if you treated this like a the song it is. Pick with your fingers, and observe how the singer sings. He's gentle, and he's not being melodic. It's the simplicity of the song, because the lyrics are the star. I've sang in the Pacific rim solo festival. This isnt me being mean this is earnest criticizm. Don't hold the notes out on this one, but dont cut off too fast. But otherwise good.

Good point, and I mean this in a nice way, but a cover isn't supposed to be exactly the same as the original, so it's okay to veer away from the original because it's interesting to listen to other people's takes on the songs. That's just what I think anyway haha.

It's always ok to put your own spin on a cover. If I wanted to hear the original, I wouldn't listen to covers. Some covers are better than the originals after all, and not everybody plays the same style of guitar. I mean, did you see the kid play this song on the ukelele? Wasn't my cup of tea, but it was original, so I appreciated it.

Good voice but the guitar part is completely butchered. Sorry. You shouldn't use a pick for this and you seem to be playing an F power chord instead of a major/minor. Another thing - towards the end of the chorus it sounds like you're playing an E minor when it should be major. Also, Ben doesn't play the top e string at all in this song. I hope that sounded more helpful than critical. I may upload a video of myself doing this at some point - I've been trying to perfect it for ages!

Indeed, try playing a song that uses exclusively barred chords for a longlong time, and transition out of using open chords, just using barred chord replacements, and within a week, they'll be completely calloused
