I'm like a total Libertarian, want to legalize all drugs, AND I'm a childhood rape survivor (non-parental), but I'm totally on board with conservatives on this one. I had an argument with some on youtube today who was saying we should implant chips in all of our children, in order to prevent them from being kidnapped by pedophiles. I told him the majority of abusers already frequent the child's home, and that children taken into state care are several times more likely to be sexually abused...

We've allowed constitutional rights for people under 18 to be eroded, and allowed parental rights to be eroded. It's high time we had an amendment to the constitution protecting natural born parents. Back when they had spanking in school you never saw a child bring a gun to school. Kids abuse there parents with by hand or mouth. And now the goverment wants to give these kids full power. What would you do if it is 12 o'clock midnight and your 10 yrs old is out side. I seriously don't see the big deal about this in America...all of Europe has signed this bill and it hasn't gotten the reaction that these conservative morons are predicting...You can still spank your kids but you are not allowed to injure them and this is a good thing, this bill will make it harder for a parent to abuse the kid, also it makes sure that kids have the right to descent education and gives kids a voice! Yes every child has a voice but how can you raise a child to learn right from wrong if you give them everything. this law will let the child be in charge becuase if they don't like the rules of YOUR house that you pay for and put food in then they can sue you. I think before you comment stupidly on this bill you should at least read it for yourself. then all your fears about parents having no rights would be abolished as article 2 takes into account the rights of a parent, the bill is for the relationship between a child and the state (i.e. in a court of law a child has the right to give evidense without being judged down because of being a child) a lot of what people think will happen actually won't happen, please read it for yourself 1st!

As for the child's "relationship" with the state, there is NONE and there doesn't need to be one. It also isn't the state's business. You need to discern a bill's language.
