It's harder for any CPU to process 2 million pixels per frame (definitely not a task for a Pentium 4 preocessor). If your display is full HD (that is 1080p) and you're actually working with that resolution, the video is awesome. If your display resolution is 1280x1024, you won't see any difference between 1080p and 720p, so don't waste your time loading full HD videos.

Yes, quite a big difference. 720p and 1080p stand for screen size, so 720p is equal to 1280x720 pixels on a screen, whilst 1080p is 1920x1080 pixels on a screen. The more pixels, the better the quality
