@thenintendogamer That trade helped the Rockets get past the Sonics in 1997. If that trade doesn't happen, the Rockets end up losing to Seattle because they really frustrated Hakeem with excessive double and triple teams and their illegal defense (zones). Barkley helped take pressure off of him and helped the rebounding as well. But, that trade hurt the Rockets in the 1997 WCF against Utah because they had to start rookie Matt Maloney who got owned by Stockton.
With Larry Brown as coach he made the Clippers respectable team.Even though they lost at least they put a up a good fight.Let's face it they may have been a good team but CHAMPIONSHIP MATERIAL?! AT LEAST THEY PLAYED HARD AND WITH PRIDE WHAT MORE CAN YOU GET FROM THE CLIPPERS?
Marc Jakson wasn't shy about using the shake in the previous game when they won. kenny had to give him a lil sumthin back to his fellow new yorker..lol
no they weren't walter's right they didn't appear on nbc again after this and they also appeared on nbc on christmas in both 91 and 92 both at the sports arena
can you image how many championships houston could have won if the rockets where able to keep otis thrope plus still get clyde drexler and than on top of that if verron maxwell could have had a good head on his shoulders i am thinking the rockets and bulls would have had a few classic nba fianls match ups.
lol mark jackson @ 3:03. Dang the Clippers had Mark Jackson and Ron Harper...and is that Larry Brown coaching them??
The '92-'93 season was really the "changing of the guard" season. Alot of people say it was the '93-'94 season since MJ retired, and i don't blame them for saying that...but the '92 -'93 season was really the first season that alot of teams made big changes to try to catch up to the Bulls. (look @ Houston finally surrounding Hakeem with a supporting cast and Phoenix).
The early to mid-90s was a great time for some NBA basketball. I believe the 1993 Playoffs was one of the most entertaining post-seasons (with all the great matchups from first round to NBA finals).
kenny smith is a dumb ass. he's celebrating like they won the finals. you should be ashamed to go to the final game of a series against any clipper team in the 90's.
thanks for posting this! brings back (painful) memories. yes, i'm a clippers fan and just watching this hurts. our team was pretty talented (harper, manning, jackson, norman, roberts), we had guys who could play.
this was a franchise changing game. hopefully the clippers can get back to the playoffs with there young talents

Maybe the only entertaining Clippers team in their history. Manning, Jackson and Ron Harper with Larry Brown as HC.

Back in the day, Billy would sit courtside at the LA Sports Arena as the sort of antithesis to Nicholson and Dyan Cannon at Laker games.

Thanks for the lesson! I'm sure he was ticked off when the Rockets won

This was one of the only times the Clippers ever appeared on the NBA on NBC. I don't think they ever did again after this game.

It's a shame Vernon couldn't co-exist with Clyde. Would have been a good backup for Clyde for a couple of years.
