in to much of hurry to put on even 1 wheel strap? Man those guys must haveback to back tows.- this is what I do- once the car is on the bed and while the bed is still on the tilt I put the front left wheel strap on then step up on bed and put it in park in gear and set break, then raise bed. then I can pull up and finish my staps or drive a few miles to where I can do it. My wife timed me and it takes 20 seconds! thats it 20 seconds for a damage free tow- no outts pocket expense!
Regardless if the Winch broke loose, you should always have atleast a safety chain hooked in cases like this. I use to tow, and always went by the saying, ''better safe than sorry'' And judging by his pure laziness and blatant disregard for other peoples lifes, this guy was just shy of being sorry he didnt strap it down. Never rely on the winch itself.

That's what I thought. The tow truck drivers here always chain the cars down. Never know whats going to happen especially if the surface is slippery after a crash (oil / transmission fluid leaking)
I once saw a guy that didn't even know how to hook up to a caravan and put it on his bed because of a rear spring support broke.
I told him were to hook his winch cable to and he wouldn't listen to me, instead he wait 30minutes for another guy to come out and hook were I said to hook up to.And then neither of them could problem solve at how to tie the rear end down and the second listen to me on using the wheelstraps hooked to the bed. Basicly their trucks were under equipped for doing the job.
