Communism exists everywhere, it just so happens that Communists in China was able to take over at the right time. I think people forget about the thousands of years when China reigned as the most respected and civilized nation in Asia as opposed to the last 60 years of the Communist regime. I think we also forget that the Japanese chose to adopt many aspects of Chinese culture, and re-payed them by brutalizing them. Don't judge the Chinese because of what 2 idiots did.

The Nationalists fell because so many had been killed by Japan's forces. The Chinese were basically poor, starving peasants dying of famine...and they did what they thought necessary to survive. If that meant Communism, well...it was either that or remain in ruin forever. I do agree that by now, the Communist regime should be overthrown, though...
