  • ive just watched the most beautifully played instrument on the planet....ive just heard the most amazing voice ive ever heard sing....THIS IS GOD ON THE GUITAR!

  • well, im stiff

  • incredible son... thanks David forma your art!

  • One man is already dead and can't return to life !

  • Is always a pleasure to listen to Gilmour, especially in this lovely version, but I feel we must give some credits to the fabulous Sam Brown, who guide the chorus! for me, the most underrated female artist in our time!

  • He's a guitar god...

  • playing a Taylor :)

  • the best of the all !!! great video cntl

  • this man always it thrills me with his guitar solos....

  • beautiful

  • fuera de joda un grosso #1

  • Aflojale al choripan David!

  • i bought this cd the day it came out

  • @MSG685 What is the name of the CD?

  • @jonathonpvaldez17 the division bell

  • @MSG685 I knew that dude. I thought you were talking about this live version.

  • @jonathonpvaldez17 my bad . is it on pulse ?

  • @MSG685 No Pulse was older had Waters in it and they used electric guitars. I think this concert was just nothing but acoustics.

  • @jonathonpvaldez17 Pulse was in the mid-90s. It ended in 94, which probably means it kicked off in 93. Waters was not there. Yes, it used electric instrumentation.

  • 0 dislikes..let it always be like this..I fell like i've come back to life after hearing this..david gilmour 4ever..

  • that took some bollocks to pull that off , but it is dave gilmour after all

  • What an incrdible performance. Yes a must have for the old DVD collection.

  • he's so vulnerable up there, especially every time he performs the intro to this song, and ACOUSTICALLY, imean, forget about it. ha! anyways, he's been my idol now for a while and continues to be. and this performance is just another good reason why.

  • I believe this is on the In Concert DVD

  • How does he get that electric tone out of an acoustic guitar?? Oo I mean the solo... at first I actually thought there was another guitar player playing the solo hah :p

anyway, beautiful song and this is a fantastic version, I got shivers :)

  • Any body tell what vedio this is on. It is a must have for the collection.

  • Many Thanks Jamie'son, see you all soon. irra

  • I need to buy this

  • Acoustic or strat...this song moves your soul... Although I prefer the strat version, just seems to have more passion with the strings ringing out...

  • Ladies and Gentelman...this here is RAW TALENT in it's purest form! Can you imagine the feelings that the rest of the band and choir had while sharing the stage with a MASTER such as David? Gotta be close to orgasmic!

  • Esta canción me lleva lejos....

La puedo escuchar tantas veces y me sigue fascinando su encanto....

    Gracias PF!

  • If I were a guitar, I'd bend any direction David Gilmour asked me to.

  • me too. any direction he wanted, it would happen

  • @lakewobegon1 lol your comment=win

  • Master of the strings!

  • What type of strings did he use in this concert?

  • 19MaciekW94: Now there is a question we'll likely never have an answer to. But given the sound and the bending he uses, I would guess they would be super lights maybe 10s slinky. Something like Ernie Ball Super slinky perhaps? Complete guess here.

  • As far as I know he uses Ernie Ball Earthwood light strings on his acoustics.

  • perfect as usual EXELLENT

  • can that guitar solo been played with an acoustic guitar?

  • Well, it sure looks and sounds like it..

  • It is an electric acoustic guitar, so the sound can be modified through the amplifier to sound almost however u want. Not quite sure all how it works.

  • Yeah, but the bends are ridiculous for acoustic strings.

  • You can see the G string isn't wounded. Probably .010 gauges with a pure steel G.

  • David Gilmour in concert. Meltdown concert + royal festival hall 2002. Brilliant show.

  • What concert is this? It's not the Live at Royal Albert Hall, is it?

The setup of Albert Hall concert looks different than this one. Does anybody know where can I buy this. I checked Ebay Amazon, but nothing similar to this shows up.

    Thanks

  • There are two RAH concerts. This one is called Meltdown.

  • this one it's simply bealtiful

  • Sempre que ouço essa musica eu viajo sem nenhum tipo de droga hem meu organismo!!!!

    Perfeita.

  • man David is so good !!

i am scared ... floyds are old now and in future they wont be with us :(

  • MELANISTIC JOY!

    awesome!

  • wow

  • Holy shit!!

  • leaves me speechless all the time... too beautiful for words...

  • Takes my breath away every time! Amazing how far you can go with voices only!

  • any of you gilmour fiends out there?????

can you tell me what's that box there. pause the vid at 5:18 and look at that box he's got there on the right. big round window with 4 buttons.

he has this in every concert, every vid, even on his boat in his home vids. what the hell is this box? can someone tell me?

it may be a tuner, but i'm not certain, and it would seem you can get that much smaller these days, and they're standard now part of those floor peddles. so anyone please if you know.

  • tis a tuner my friend.

you were right. uses an oscilloscope to match the frequency of the note you are playing to the right pattern

  • yeah, it IS a tuner! i saw it in the mccartney/gilmour in a studio vid. he's tuning there with it.

but why 4 knobs? why so big? why have that box with him EVERYWHERE throughout his ENTIRE career? i dont get that.

tuners are standard in every single foot pedal today, in every gtr box. and he's lugging with him his old giant tuner.

that's fascinating. what's gilmour's gear anyway? how does he get that soft sustained sound with a strat anyway?

  • I believe that the soft sustained sound from his strat comes via delay. The closest I can come to it is with a Vox modeler of the original "echoplex" called "echo plus", and a touch of spring reverb. The delay and reverb are mixed so that you kind of have to be looking for it to notice. Also, Gilmour just came out with some signature strings from ghs which might help.

  • David's warm and sustained tone come from his multiple compressors and delay pedals, his strings, the modified pickups, and it's fingers. It's really hard to get close to that...

  • Amazing!

  • Great Song, great meanin, great Man - Makes me think of so many moments in my own life!

    Simply wonderful

  • buen video

  • this man is so special can you help me i don´t know if i want to be a mucician i play the guitar very well but i need a signal please help me

  • yes be a musician mate its great

  • no you shouldnt be a musician because there is no future in it, do something else. Dude just be a musician if thats what you feel in your heart. Thats what i do... sounds pointless but thats what i feel

  • why do you think that? if pink floyd had think someone like that maby they continue as an architects

  • I miss the drums

  • i just love this song and this entire concert...magnificent..

  • A masterpiece...

  • WOW
