  • Millions of dollars in research and development and you can STILL kill them with a 3 dollar can of RAID.

  • when do we humans get our control devices? Sorry I'll finish this later, I've got to get to work!

  • Comment removed

  • if i see this in home i lock my self in my room :-P

  • controlling nature rules

  • They should do this to pancakes. Cyborg pancakes that butter and syrup themselves and move themselves to my face.

  • @dankhimself I hope waffle-bot doesn't hear about that idea, he would be pissed!

  • Well done America yet again proving why you are idiots

  • @scousersuk I wanna try it out! :)) I want that toy! :)

  • @scousersuk ... Because we figured out a way to make remote-controlled cyborg insects? I dunno, sounds pretty impressive to me.

  • WOW!

    c 10 FUNNY God's greeting cards

  • tiny weapons...can do big things!

  • cruel cruel cruel

  • Hmm..... If I place tiny swords in his hands, or a poison tipped dart... Oh shit I want to get paid for my ideas....

  • @SavageSanDiego2012 u gotta work hard to give away your ideas

  • @SavageSanDiego2012 u gotta work hard and years and years and buy everything to give away your ideas. Oh and maybe ur computer is hacked and you are who u r.

  • One moment I thought, "Wow! I had no idea cyborgs existed!" Then I looked at the comments and got mad because so many commenters think the beetle's dead.

  • can they do this to my mother in law??

  • @nelsonjvasquez I came home the other day and saw 5 men beating up my mother-in-law in the street...my neighbour turned to me and said ''arent u going to help?''

''nah, 5 should be enough'' i said :-)

  • @thermaldog hahahahh

  • It's still alive you idiots. How else would it be able to generate the power to move it's wings. What they did was give the beetle brain shocks so that it would fly where they want it to. It's just like someone open up your skull and stick electrodes into your brain and if you move right then they give you a little jolt. Soon you'll move according to the jolt. The beetle eventually dies since it's brain is exposed.

  • Its most likely still alive because a cyborg is a living thing with added tech. A person with a pacemaker can be considered a cyborg.

  • was it still alve or dead? cause at 2:47 it still could hang on to the curtain,

  • Get ready for the human zombie experience. Can't kill them, they already dead.

Let's see, the Bible(yes I used that word) says that some will be killed by the sword, some by plagues, some by famine, and some by beasts.

Govmt says get ready for the zombie attack. Are they already here? Or do we just have the modified puppets, so far. Check for scars on the heads of wierd acting folks. Nothing would surprise me anymore. Tec is far more advances that what we are being told. Ps 91

  • Oh noes! Robo-zombies are real! Soon they'll be outfiting soldiers' helmets with these things so that when they fall in battle, all some guy in the barracks will have to do is boot up the First-person-shooter-like interface and bring Pvt. Bob back from the dead to continue his killing spree!

...This is actually shockingly similar to what the Nazis in that fantasy sequence in Sucker Punch were doing...

  • This is actually not mind control. This is using elecrolic impulses to animate body parts, to a limited degree. Basically, the charge stimulates the motion control center of the insects brain. It wouldn't work with a human because of the complexity of human anatomy. If you tried to do this to a person, you would end up zapping them and causing them to flop around as if they had been shot with a taser.

  • @Arborverden worse than mind control really. At least mind control the subject "thinks" they want to do what they are being made to do. With this the subject knows full well they are doing something and can't do anything to stop it.

  • @AsylumET But you must remember that this technique only works with dead organisms. At least, if they were alive when the charge was applied, they weren't afterwards. So they can't experience the sensation of their body being controlled.

  • @Arborverden oh I did not see that they were already dead.

  • Im sure they are able to do the same with us ;D

  • A bit spooky somehow. Kind of like controlling something that's dead, at least that's what it looks like to me.

  • next humans, people laugh until they see it happen

  • @lilblitz probably already happened in secret paid for by our taxes

  • @webovisionca maybe on a Guantanamo captive held without charge because his grandmother said it may be unpleasant to persecute Muslims because apparently 19 out of the 1.6 billion blew up a building.

  • no there testing rfid chips on bugs to use mind control before they implant them in humans...gotta love conspiracy theorys

  • freakin' bug mind control... so when can we do this to squirrels?

  • heads up:

If you are an american and you see a Rhinocerous beetle flying at you- fucking kill it.

  • Neither are mice

  • Ok when do they this to birds? Because you know birds are not covered in animal protection acts......

  • watch for other countries stocking up on fly swaters there probaly terriost ha ha ha

  • get a fly swater ha ha ha

  • This is not realy. Is fake.

  • @Alexandresouzatube not fake

  • can you use this on humans?

  • @patrickh499 No.

  • very useful in comfort rooms..

  • жук на ниточке висит автор убейся об стену

  • пиздешь

  • So will the beetle spy or what? That thing is freaken huge, if it was spying on my i'd be fucking screaming and hitting it.

  • ...dr. Gero...

  • @kylebossify perfect cell cometh'

  • someone call PETA!

  • OMG! its the carrier pigeon's karma looking for payback.

  • It's not skynet its the Borg ha ha I think I need one of thirsting chips cause I am a dumb ass.

  • no top comment... umm.... Chuck Norris

  • @regan2ify

No top comment? Um... I'll say something about there being no top comment and add a lame joke, that should work.

    Fuck off.

  • Comment removed

  • Why not do this to their mother/father? or their sons/daughters?

WAR is a man made thing, Nature doesn't have war! You don't see animals fighting just because one is different from each-other. What's next rhinoceros? (the black rhino is, by the way, recently extinct, buy the hand of the so called human kind, time to re-think expressions like humanitarian or inhuman) The hard truth is we got to face it... we've got to be the dumbest species on the face of the Earth to kill millions of our kind.

  • @RPFFDS

Whilst I find this experiment disgusting and obscene, you are wrong in saying that animals don't fight. Animals fight all the time over territory (and food, obviously). Animals fight with other animals often because they are different. This isn't the Lion King.

  • @kramnodd9 I don't know any species that kill just for fun like ours, that kills millions like ours, that brings to extinction thousands of species etc... Of course animal fight, for food for territory (hunting ground or sexual demonstration) all part of natural/sexual selectivity. But our species kills for fun.... rapes for fun... mutilates for fun... Kills millions for fun... and that is for me brutal, the so called rational and evolved species is the worst on the planet.

  • @RPFFDS

Orcas kill for fun, apparently. But other than that, I agree,

  • the matrix is upon us!

  • das ist brutal!!

  • If I piss on that thing they'll stai another decade to repir it...

  • I ve got an idea "walks into natural history museum, then sticks a computerchip to a beetle" what a good vid nooooottttt

  • or is that hex bug nano?

  • Someone Hand me a Fukin Fly Swatter!

  • Boy, we got 'em now!

  • Now strap that to a million soldiers and you see where this technology is going..

  • right turn

    <<<<<

    /\ fail

  • yes but will it blend?

  • Just like a worker in factory :-))))

  • Repentance will be sought.

Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.

  • @phantasmagonorrhea Good post!

  • @phantasmagonorrhea

Scientists are incapable of morals. Everything is fine in the name of progress.

  • animal cruelty

  • @roamerreed

Its a fuckin bug.. who cares you tree huggin hippy.

  • @metaldevastation what if something 10 times more intelligent than you imposed you were just a human

  • @MCkillerG050 - Then that's the way it is. Since such a being has yet to prove it's existence your statement holds no validity.

  • @MCkillerG050 I'd just have to suck it. That's nature. The strong prevails and it aint written anywhere that one must behave. "Ethic" doesn't exist. It's merely a view that's been imposed onto you by those who have power, and it changes from decade to decade. The aztecs sacrificed zillions of people to their gods. And it was just fine to them. Who are we to say that was wrong? More "civilised" people? Yeah right. Oh and by the way, there are no rights. Just concessions from the people upstairs.

  • @PtsMacCarron I feel sorry for you if you honestly believe that. I'll agree, rights a a concession from the "Man upstairs", that is, God. But to say neither ethics nor morality exist is moronic. The Aztecs did sacrifice millions, but do you think the sacrificed masses were okay with that? No. What if your government decided to sacrifice you? Are you okay with that? If there is no good and there is no evil, you must be a real charmer. I bet you only look out for yourself and everyone else suffers

  • @IncredibleHulkey The mere fact that you think rights come from "God" proves there's no point in trying to reason with you. No, the masses were not ok. No, I would not be ok with it. But guess what? Once again, i'd have to suck it, just like the masses, just like the cockroach. I could try to fight of course. And suddenly ethics would fuck off. And no, I don't look out for myself alone. Far,far, far from it. But I am no simple minded, blind fool.

    Enjoy.

  • @PtsMacCarron your'e wrong about that, the aztecs where fucking crazy because they ate magic mushrooms to communicate with their ''gods'' and the sun burning on their heads day in day out did not happen to help in this situation and you shoul look at cultures around the world where everybody and everything is treated with dignity and respect so that nature can be in balance wich is crucial to survival on this planet, get money in the picture and you get power hungry psychothic sociopaths(aztecs)

  • @roamerreed i agree with metaldevastation, it is a damn bug, tell me how many MILLION other cyborg bugs there are then you can call it animal cruelty, even though those bugs (and pretty much any bug) have to small of brains to feel emotions. I mean this"animal cruelty" is not the really animal cruelty. Animal cruelty would be like someone driving over their puppy cause they don't wan't to feed it anymore. Seriously, I doubt you care that much a about that bug.

  • @bidcar87

How do you know what a bug can and cannot feel? This nonsensical theory that bugs are just automatons has NEVER even come close to being proven. Insects are capable of feeling both fear and pain.

  • i saw that shit flying next to my girlfriend!

  • its not fair do such a thing with animals and insects .

  • THEY WILL DO THE SAME TO US ALL SOON...

  • @ovruni4458 I agree.

  • lets fly that in area 51 see whats down there :/

  • @pinkfloydmas1er lol area 51 is nothing theyre just some pussys (no offenc) who hide shit from theyre own people

  • @pinkfloydmas1er I hope you know anti air would take that shit down in a millisecond

  • @ThingsInc Why would they shoot at a beetle? i think it would be hard to hit that beetle with anti aircraft artillery. This type of technology would be used for reconnaissance missions

  • @TheBoostDoctor I would think any life that isn't working at Area 51 would be killed on sight, even a beetle

  • @ThingsInc Right, because the U.S. would spy on one of there own facilities. Also, I really doubt they kill bugs for trespassing

  • Intellegence is also a weapon

  • This is a weapon how?

  • You are a sick monster created by satan himself.

  • I freaked out when that thing started to fly...

  • These guys have too much money.

  • @alexandergosselin

i saw we Audit the NFL... fuck monkeys running around with a ball.

  • my professor is doing this.

  • you kinda suck at controlling it but its a really cool invention

  • @RedDoT3G It's a living creature with a microchip attached. He's only sending 2 signals down the wire: positive to go, and negative to stop. You can't really drive it rofl.

  • sorry i was attacked by some weird beetle

  • i am suddenly itch OH SHI- sadfnslskfj'bvs

  • They wont ''bug'' the phone now, cuz they put ''bug'' on the bug

  • Good for Guerilla warfare

  • so these beetles were once real living? watch researches make from cyborg insects to cyborg humanoids

  • Comment removed

  • billions of dollars in research compromised by a can of RAID

  • @icaller115 it used for reconnaissance

  • I would instantly swat the shit out of that if it was anywhere near me. I hate big ass bugs.

  • wow. a weapon to spy on the US public....kinda obvious.

  • How can the beetle become a military weapon?

  • @Icaller1915 Recon drone; literal fly on the wall... or, in this case, beetle.

  • thats really cool, ill be sure too double check a bug or beetle lol

  • Gonna be the best drones ever. Terrorists/rogue states will have no place to hide. No way to keep secrets. Don't FUCK with the USA. =)

  • @chadnessify made in israel

    fail

  • @chadnessify I'm sure glad there's no way this is an indication of a fascist nation/1984 type scenario :D All hail the government!

  • @chadnessify they have just to kill the beetle...

  • thats fuckin awesome iwant one man wtf

  • made in israel :)

  • is it a dead bug or wtf?

  • what if someone kills it without them knowing that its a machine?

  • Assuming this is real, what sick monster came up with this idea. Taking live insects, implanting them with electrodes, and essentially turning them into puppets. Building a machine is one thing, desecrating life is quite another.

  • @xenoz312

it is real and accomplished by UofC at berkeley, and the sick monster is the beauty if science. this is were we are going and fast, soon humans will be adding technology to their bodies. and as far as insect life goes, its proven they cant feel pain or have any kind of elevated thought process. less of a brain and more of a fancy spinal column. this is hardly desecration of life. its nothing more than powerful domestication

    tl;dr

science is our future, get smart or get left behind

  • @johndoe7391

It's *NEVER* been proven. It's always just been assumed that insects "can't feel". There's zero evidence to support that idea.

  • @kramnodd9 Quit yo yibber jabber yo jive arse niggar

  • @xenoz312 They did the same thing with bats during WWII. Loaded them down with fuel to be dropped on Japan to burn the buildings down. Thank god the Atom bomb was invented. So the project was scrapped.

  • @WizzRacing Actually they never used bats, it was only experimented with.

  • @Jospehporta Um.. You think the words "They scrapped the project" would have been a clue.

  • @WizzRacing It wasn't because they invented the atom bomb lol.

  • @xenoz312 Derp even though Iran used several hundred people in an unregistered Biological weaponry program.

  • big bad beetleborgs (1996)

anything we've all seen in sci-fi movies/tv - in reality, they're working on perfecting it behind the scenes.

  • Boring

  • where can i get one ? lol

  • does it use the i7 cpu?

  • @franciscordk2 Why would it need to use the i7 processor...

  • Ya well just WTF ARE THE LITTLE BUGS SPY'S OR ARE THEY LOCK AND LOAD READY I think I am going to look for my swatter !! Hay we don't need to be BUGGED anymore ok DARPA.

  • where would they use this..in the jungle..cuz u cant use this in urban combat its too noticeable..not too many giant beeetles flying around in circles around the war zone...but this would be good for spying on ur friends or workplace or something fun...i wouldnt trust my life to this thing on the combat feild..no freakin way

  • @delaney12 This is just one example of the system using a beetle. I hear their planning to use pidgeons, dragonflies, wasps etc. This could be a novel means of detecting potential deathtraps on the battlefield.

  • A SIMPLE FLY SWATTER CAN TAKE THESE THINGS OUT.

    GO FIGURE?

  • It's actually a transformer. When it's not a beetle it's a pack of cigarettes known as Nicobot.

  • when can we do this with humans

  • At what point when your flying a cyborg beetle around the lab do you realize your a "Mad scientist"?

  • @SarcasticWino when the checks stop coming in

  • fake

  • @Lliok5 troll

  • wow nice fake bug hanging from a fish wire

  • @Fatprince1 your dumb let me geuss you also beleave global warming isn't real

  • @joshj218 global warming isnt real, the scientific terminology has been changed to "Global Climate Change". Due to many record low temperatures in recent years scientists now say it will be more extreme weather conditions not necessarily increasing heat

  • that is really cool, spy shit right there

  • imagine that in brazil super spy shit

  • Imagine what they can do to humans..that poor little guy.

  • is it a real insect with a platine on it, which confuses the senses of the animal ?

    thats really really awesome !!!

  • All you need is a good firm news paper to put it in its place.

  • looks like it could use just a bit more fine tuing

  • Bloody hell people, it's a fucking beetle, it doesn't feel pain, it's not sentient. This isn't animal cruelty, so go piss on someone else's parade with your PETA bullshit.

Frankly I think this is just awesome, this is how the US should be spending their tax money.

  • awesome

  • FAKE.

No1, the military would never release this type of tactical info to the general public, especially Youtube.

No2, the military would never involve underage kids to be involved in the project (thus seen in the clip) why? Would you let a kid near a multimillion dollar prototype?

Its a nice idea, possible? Yes.

  • @yos2481 it is not fake, it was allover the news

  • @yos2481 my friend, the only reason why this is on youtube is because the military has something better! Therefore, this technology has already been replaced.

  • @yos2481

DARPA dont actually have any labratories on site at the main HQ.

They do most of their work across the country at Universities and High Schools.

Another reason they would let kids/young adults near such technology might be to encourage them to help/invent in the future.

    I'm just saying...

  • @yos2481 cyborg insects are not fake, but i dont think so they will use them in army.. or maybe just as small flying spycams

  • @yos2481

best way to hide a secret, is to put them on plain sight.
