  • but models on after it looks great

  • How did you get water effects?

  • Great idea

  • tyranids are like bugs they will always survive !

  • tyranid tentacals!!!!!

  • Perfect for a Necron Army. Just put the Fire Red for a green and the Olive Green, replace it with the Fire red. I love yout terrains. Go MiniWarGaming!!!!

  • looks a little chaosy, a bit like tentacles

  • 5:09 one on left looks like a angry snamke monster staring into your soul!!

  • so you like the game hu?

  • tip: with the fire, you can partially melt your models, so you can bent them into other poses, like making a space marine biker having the rock sign

  • miniwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaghgaming!!!

  • you could also do this to make cool looking pipes for buildings

  • 5:10 the straw looks like a monster

  • HAHA my straw lite on fire :(

  • @SpencerMcGilchrist7 is ther any othr glue i can use other than PVA glue?

  • @jmrjhulk yes you can use elmers glue and even school glue but you cant use acid baced glue like super glue it will melt the syirafoam but you cant use stick glue eatherit ill clump up and make a mess and it isint strong enough so just any white glue will work

  • @SpencerMcGilchrist7 thats impossible because plastic doesn't burn idiot

  • @encon101 Plastic fucking ignites dude. Doesn't take long either.

  • @zanderjohn1 plastic cannot burn, it can only melt and evaporate go learn your science.

  • @encon101 Every material in the universe burns at the right temperature. Steel burns at around 1400 degrees Fahrenheit. Plastic's ignition temperature can range depending on the type, but the minimum is around 400 degrees.

And evaporation? Only happens to water, man. Sure plastic does melt (and ignite), but no matter how many plastic army men you torch, you still have a greenish slag puddle at the end- not a noxious plastic cloud.

  • @zanderjohn1 yes, actually plastic does evaporate,i know it sounds stupid but anything that can turn into a liquid or solid will evaporate at the right temperature. As for the plastic burning it will not because First: it will turn into a liquid, Second:if that liquid becomes hot enough(really fucking hot) it will evaporate into air.

  • @encon101 to evaporate anything you have to use a plasmid like thermite or something hotter that we haven't discovered yet.

  • @SpencerMcGilchrist7 same lol

  • I tried doing this with the rotting remains of my dead enemies. but it didn't work out too good.

  • i can't find any polestine in live i australia so where will i get some from?

  • @CornieDude15 Build store (I dont think this is spelled correct because of english isnt my native language)

  • @CornieDude15 you can find it at any construction store and pollystyrine is stirafoam its the same thing just alterd to have smaller cells

  • That's right... Work it in children.

  • or use a green stuff blob and sqaush them into it

  • i tryed it and i burned my finger off it came out good though

  • i made it also, it looks awesome! it lookes a bit different, but also very great!

  • lighting a candle is a realy awesome fun part?

  • THAT IS SICK!!! :D

  • Awesome =D

  • If you could get your hands on some miniature plastic bugs and glue them on around the openings of the ''plant'' I bet it would look really cool.

  • I had so muck fun making these! Thanks Dave!

  • the straw with the fat end looks like a triffid head

  • these make great chaos-influenced vegetation! very nice

  • very nice

  • Just tried this today and it worked very well :) still have to paint it though

    thanks MWG !!!!!

  • Or you were to hasty.

  • dont do what dave does best it will drop and will be like hot glue but on fire l got it on me and burned threw my skin

  • Or you were an idiot

  • Wow! I can feel the inspiration for my upcoming battle scene. Thank MWG!

  • Styrofoam works pretty well too seeing that it is similar to polysterene. But it easily melts if you use Super Glue and/or Hot Glue Guns. So use white glue instead.

  • I MADE IT i will post it soon!

  • this is wkd guys and i just subsribed

  • instead of alien vegetation it makes me think of a planet that was infested by tyranids and was nuked to kill out the infestation

  • its amazing what you can use to make things this tutorial is amazing :D

  • if you want to make other kinds of alien vegetation, use a mixture of super glue and white glue. after pouring the two together, bubbles should start coming out, so miz them together when that starts to happen. makes great toxic miasma.

  • The terrain looks fine, but those colors don't match.

  • where do u get the polystyrene??? i camt find it anyehere

  • u can get polystyrene at pretty much any hardwhere store like menards or home depot

  • cool thx. last time i went to home depot they didnt have it but now they do. cant wait to make this or the asteroid

  • you should be able to find it at most hobby stores, but they also sell them at home depot stores too. preferrably ones which deal with DIY renovation. alse, be careful of which ones you buy, because for some types of polystyrene (i think blure or orange), are incredibly hard and would need professional tools to cut the,

  • @sk8rkid5463 its styrofoam

  • it looks pretty cool!

  • that lucked grate how do u move so fast

  • they sped it up...

  • duh

  • :O Canada Fyre looks liek normel peepul fyre! :O

  • did anyone notice that at 2:50 the plastic caught on fire and dave blew it out and u can hear it?

  • looks pretty awesome. Amazing with what you can do with common things and a bit of paint

  • did you just spraypaint styrofoam?

  • diesn't the polystyrene melt?

  • It doesn't melt away, just little parts. Anyway, it makes it look even more alien so who cares ; ).

  • your right :P

  • incredible.

  • Nice work dave!

  • that actually looks more impressive than I was expecting!

  • looks awesome

  • I thought the foam melted when you used a spraycan?

  • depends on what brands you are using

  • you could pour some off the wax on aswell

  • @ssjgeta I actually though he was going to do that when he introduced the candle :P

  • GW paints are expensive. Avoid them.

  • What do you suggest?

  • If you are painting terrain then you should get acrylic paints. They are dirt cheap compared to GW's paints.

  • dont you get cancer of inhaling all that plastic

  • you can get cancer from inhaling it, that why he said to have a air vent. or do it outside

  • that would be nice

  • throw some bitz of bodies and body parts in to make it look like its some form of man eating plant!

  • Thats a great idea!

  • go dave go dave wait weres the thing that you comment on our comments NOO !

  • love it sooo much in 20 mins after seeing this ive made 13 they will be ace once ive painted it

  • o_0

  • That came out better then I expected o_O

  • awesome work, very god for a tyranid based battlefield, or an alien desert

  • Or It lokks a bit like Coral

  • very interesting.....This one really Rocks it out...Great one Dave. Thanks

  • you could also drip some of the melted wax over it to make it look more organic, i think I'll try that later =)

  • I thought that's what he was going to do haha.

  • Shoulda made them purple and made them look liek tyranid slimetrees or something hehe ^^

  • This is awesome i love miniwargaming keep up the good work

  • looks nice and easy to make :D

maybe its even cooler with other colours :D

  • woo ive like what u are doing i make boss terrain i will post some videos to

  • easy and cool for tyranids

  • cool ill make those i have loads of bases laying around

  • WOOOOOOO! go dave great terain

  • thanks for showing me how to set my house on fire.

  • it feels like a science experiment near the beginning

  • yeah we did something similar in chemistry but

    we werent making tyranid terrain

  • far out this vids are awesome! good to see miniwargaming still doing how to videos on youtube rather than just promoting their shit like BTP, the lazy gits.

  • What does pale olive prefer to in the GW palette?

  • @romlottsali1(ive seen you before) rotting flesh

  • @williamtom0

    THX what do you mean?

  • i think hes out of his mind

  • wow just out of all those random household objects you can make stuff like that hobbies FTW!

  • awesome!!!

  • very cool ill have to try this

  • looks awesome

  • wow, cant wait to make some for my demon planet. nice job guys.

  • Was the candle scented. Just asking LOL

  • what planet types would these examples be used on though...

  • im kjust throwing this out here but possibly catachan other than that i have no idea

  • wow that looks great!

  • awesome. probably a bit too tyranid-ish for me, but my tyranid playing friend will definitely be interested.

  • Its amazing how they can make something so cool, out of something so simple!

  • that must smell WONDERFULL

  • You know, the first few ones smell really bad but once you really get into it they start to smell reeeally funky. ;D

  • Okay, this project looks good and is creative.

For extra strength inside the straws, you could poor wood glue down the insides and roll the straw to get an even coat. Then glue them into the blue foam base.

  • its cool to see a new take on an old technique. usually people do this sort of terrain as smaller shrub like pieces, seeing them all large and tree like is prety nifty.

  • That's real good

  • that looks really coool i think im going to have to try that..

  • With the candle, you could goop some melted wax onto the pained straws

  • thats cool :D

  • Pretty kool!

  • Awsome work man.

  • For a minute I thought you were high on straws but it looked good in the end. Nice.

  • i thought the same thing haha

  • GO dolar store maches

  • daves secret get high vid

  • burning straws is a bit dangoures

& the fumes are not healthy -.-

  • Thats why he said: "be careful and do this in a well ventilated place."

Awesome vid MWG, how come you guys use Reaper paints now?

Keep them coming! I love these vids.

    Death AKA Woulfgar

  • Better quality and more bang for your buck.

  • 1st from Canada...... I Think

  • isn't this video ancient?

  • i am loving these new terrain vids!

  • not bad at all!

  • Holy Crap! Nice work guys, looks very realistic!

  • Nice video. Now ima have some fun with making these >:D
