Indian civil code was not written by the British. Indian civil codes are part of the Indian constitution, which was written by B R Ambedkar, who was not British !! I hope u know that !!
And it is in Indian constitution that all Indians should have a uniform civil code.
Civil codes have to do with laws.
And laws are not written based on what is acceptable to all castes and religions (except in Congress' India)!! Laws are laws and they apply, whether people like it or not.
