  • respect!

  • Don't you think this is a pointless exercise? Number1 - it isn't the deepest depth record - that is another 400 m deeper than this! Number 2 - nothing was gained scientifically from the dive. Number 3 - such a feat could in theory be completed by someone who just walked-in off the street - its just a logistics thing unlike a true record like 100m sprint etc. Do you see my point?

  • Berkcam, I see your point, but another 400 m dive was not an open circuit scuba record and I disagree that it could be accomplished by anyone who 'just walked in off the street'.

  • @scubazmei - what I am saying is that the world 'depth' record is over 700m - and none of those guys neede to be 'athletes' to accomplish that feat. I'll maintain my stance on such a feat being achievable by just about anyone as its all about logistics - get enough of the right gas in the right place at the right time etc.

  • If you maintain that stance about such a feat being achievable by just anyone.. well. Then go and break that record yourself :)

  • I agree Elena, most people get confused with the witness signed disks and the rectangular tags as well as the location of the cameras, LOL, your friend Nuno

PS it took me a while to figure John Bennett's record as well, from the film LOL

  • nuno32181: I think we should download the video footage of John Bennett's record dive, so me or Valeria will do that, but then once again I have to comment it, how that was done, etc. Will try to put this information in "description". Did you read my comments?

  • Yes, having JB on the youtube will be a very good idea. He did the exact opposite of me, he went down and placed a tag on the line at 300m

  • nuno32181:I will upload it tonight!

  • This is great and congratulation.I am going to share it with all my friends!

  • Moisesabrador,Thanks for the post, Man! My sster posted this video earlier but it seems some people don't want to understand how it worked with the video. I hope it made sense.

  • One camerawoman (Valentina) followed me (Nuno) to 70m, on my way down, after that I went on my own to 318.25m. On my way up, after retrieving a witness signed and dated disk from 318.25m, I (Nuno Gomes) was filmed by Pieter from a depth of 124m ascending from depth. Once I got to Pieter he examined the signed disk and then released 2 tags (rectangular) by means of his surface marker buoy (the rectangular tags stated that I am OK and that I had retrieved one of the world record signed disks).

  • Nuno, you should write this information about the dive on the main forum, it seems that a lot of people get confused thinking there was a cameraman who chased you down..! (lol) On the other hand after so many fake claims of the world records I understand why people get so suspicious! Your friend Elena

  • I agree, it would be a good idea to put it in the main forum. I guess that you are talking about the description of the dive? It would be best if you could my dear friend, I have no access, Nuno
