We call them by brand here, or Pop, but when I worked in restaurants in central Kentucky, a lot of people called all of it Coke! And hooray for cornbread. When I left my ex, I said, "The iron skillet comes with me since it was Mom's!" I make decent cornbread, but it could be better! I HEART killed lettuce, too, and fried cabbage!
The coke thing confused the hell out of my the first time I stopped in a Southern restaurant. We're a bit of a crossroads for accents and colloquialisms here in Iowa but we only understand soft drinks as pop or soda. It's totally pop, though. Don't let those damn Minnesotans tell you otherwise. :)
do you say kleenex when you ask for a tissue?
