Is it just me or that 747 taking off from NY (minute 1:38 - 1:43) has a problem with the rightmost landing gear? It does not seem to move at all. Is it always like that on all B747?
Viva Iberia: Lineas Aereas de Espana! Miss the 747 fleet, especially my favorite aircraft which I have flown in to Spain almost EVERY year back in the 1980s: "Calderon de la Barca". Nowadays, their Airbus A340 fleet is just as magnificent and I enjoy flying in them as well!
I was in Costa Rica by Iberia (from Madrid) .. end i want to inform you: IBERIA HAVE TERRIBLE IN-FLIGHT SERVICE... food was poor, hospitality at very low level.... avoid them!
@mamukacool .. thanks for the insight, but most of the airlines featured in all my videos (and the vids of many others) show airlines whose inflight-service ranges from horrific to mediocre...but none of that is the point of our shooting airliners. Shooting the airliners is all this is about. But thanks for the comments nontheless!
No other B-747 can show off as EC-BRQ aka EC-GAG by tranporting Pablo Picasso's El Guernica!!!
It's a shame that Iberia didn't donate it to Museo del Aire luckily they preserved the nose of EC-GAG I heard.
I have grow up with jumbos and fly in all of them 7? I think Iberia had 7 jumbos and recently I flew in Airbus A380 from Singapore Airlines and in my opinion it sucks you have to wait around two hours to fit all the passengers inside... plus the seats are not as comfortable as B-747.
@ustickjoheadupjoculo ..actually I miss EC-BRO (everyone says 'bro' now...but Iberia said it first!) and EC-EEK (how funny is that name?) But then again, I'm not as intimately familiar with the 'uniqueness' of IB's 747s are the locals (España) are. actually... IBERIA had 9 747s EC-BRO EC-BRP EC-DIA EC-DIB EC-DNP EC-EEK EC-GAG (was BRQ) EC-HVD (was DLC) EC-IAF (was DLC) All were 747-256s except BRO & BRP..747-156s. They leased two others EC-TBA & TBY, along with (4) 747-300s and (2) 747-400s!
I think when my father retired Iberia still had only 7 jumbos (I lived near Barajas Airport in La Piovera) so every time you could see them parked there at the ''beguining'' of Barajas airport. I also remember around 2000-2002? then only they short of rent or leased 747 the colors were Iberia but the crew (if am not wrong where Atlanta Airways crew)
Iberia also had beautiful fleets such as DC-9s DC-10s and B-727s
My father worked with Iberia 747's so I cannot tell you how pity it is to me to let go the fleet.
I will let you know that this old EC-BRQ even got to land and take off to Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage AK!! (lovely times for me and my family). There is also some bad story concerning the lots of repairs but it is a Piece of museum. It was a combi version with cargo at the back and passengers at the front.
Wow this video is like a historic document!!. Just excellent!! Thanks for sharing with us. EC-GAG (previously registered as EC-BRQ) flew with Iberia for 31 years and more than 100,000 hours (1972-2003).
Btw...I guess the pax were tossed around quite a bit during the landing you show at the begginning of the video :P
@Alf340 yes it is certainly for the archives of history now. Luckily I found a few guys who shot a little of Iberia's 747-400s. So the 747 story is complete.
i was a passanger on a iberia 747 from jfk to madrid in 1999 i think..
during the landing fire came out of one engine.... and the jumbo were shaking ..

los colores y la rotulación de los aviones de Iberia creo que son los más bonitos de todas las compañías aéreas del mundo.

depends, between 1998 to 2003

@coolharry1236 I'm guessing 2001 or early 2002 since you see a glimpse of both TWA and JetBlue planes at JFK.
