Fantastic production! Love it and there has been alot of hard work put in but its great.. This is my favourite air battle and you've made an excellent job. Next you'll be required on a movie scene.. is that the total achievement your striving for? You deserve it. All the best Nige
@XxSubZero13 Yes, it's a plane simulation, Il-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover. But if you're interested in WWII warbirds, I'd suggest you check out its predecessor, Il-2 1946. It's still played online, and has (at the moment) about 200 flyable plane models and covers almost all theaters of the war... besides the battle of Britain, which is alas not included.
I love the German gunner with the coal skuttle helmet, fucking ace! oh! and you need more swearing over the RT with the waffs listening! Ha! Got to send this to my German friends!
@SuperTastyone I can't imagine huge amounts of swearing. Radio traffic was highly controlled and pilots would get in trouble for cluttering up the airways with useless chatter and cursing. I'm sure there was some...but its hard to swear on radio when you only are saying short lines like "Tally ho! Bombers spotted."
@rifledude303 Was that the chap who ran out of ammo in his hurricane and took down the bomber using his wing or something ? i remember seeing a documentary on history channel about it .
Interesting that the aircraft look fantastic and fly very realisticly , but the crew look strange in certain situations such as walking and in crew close ups, very CGi but apart from that great film !
I really have to say this was even better than many Battle of Britain films ive ever seen, my dads a professional Historian on the Battle of Britain, both of us agree this was simply Fantastic!!!
There's a reason why American pilots dropped more enemy planes faster no matter its the Luftwaffe or Imperial Japanese Airforce is due to the firepower. .303 rounds is perfect for land usage but shooting a big piece of metal letting it go boom? Tough. That's why the Navy and Airforce decided to use .50 cal machineguns as aircraft guns as it packs heavier bullet and it fucking packs more punch than you can get. Piloting skills of both allied nations is good but bet Americans sure could kill more
Fantastic movie. One personal thing though. I just can't stand any old German WWII army songs even though I'm a big Luftwaffe fan. The only one I like...Love is I Had a Comrade but that goes back to the 19 century. That one chokes me up.
Too many Words to explain how Great this Production is,I can really appreciate the Many Hours that have been spent creating this Masterpiece,a large proportion on the Poser Pro Pilot Animation let alone the excellent flying sequences.
Fantastic video - speechless with admiration. Unbelievable!
Thinking about the Hurricane pilot that rammed the Dornier at the end. From the cockpit view before the collision, it looked as though he couldn't even see the Do 17 over the Hurricane's nose. It made me wonder whether in real life, that pilot collided with the Dornier by accident, then claimed in his report that he rammed it deliberately because he was too embarrassed to admit the truth! I might have done that in his position. ;)
Fantastic but i would also add music "clubbed to death" by Rob Dougan during the fight scenes, or the final battle scene music from the movie Battle of Britian"
Very good editing and quality. But the crash is kind of seldom. Two planes hit the city = civilian casulties. This is a high cost for a single bomber, that alredy emptied his load.
@qtight The second bomber crash, after being rammed by a Hurricane is based on a true event. A Hurri Pilot saw a Bomber heading towards Windsor palace and since he had run out of ammo, rammed it. There was a documentary about it called: The Hurricane that Saved London
There is actual footage of the bomber falling from the sky and the Hurricane itself was excavated from underneath a London cross street where it had crashed and been paved over.
@Wailwulf Thx for your kind reply. I really appreciate this video based on a true event. But I didn't know it, though I'm flying sims for years. Perhaps they should have put a short explanation in the title or description. I'm sure most of the viewers don't even realise it, but it kinda made me sceptic. im not really into this stuff but it looks great and you obviously put a lot into it .. its very realistic . you must use some serious hardware .

Yes ,aircrew had Steel helmets in the aircraft to help protect from Shrapnal from
Anti Aircraft Fire and bullets from attacking Aircraft.
Would put on once over enemy territory especially the Bomb Aimer in the unprotected Glazed Nose Area and cockpit.
Not sure though if it was compulsary to wear in combat or optional.

I've a question about IL2 COD. Those pilots animations in bomber cockpits are mod or they are in game?

Their Neither.
They are created with Animation Editing Software called Poser Pro then added in Post Production.
