  • It's like a Norman Rockwell slice of life circa 1970.

  • Like the friendly helpful neighbors, people were really like that once before we all became so cynical and guarded. Like the way she catches the old man snooping and stops in the middle of her heavy lifting to smile and say hi in a kind way. This commercial really strikes home with me, maybe that's what it was meant to do but it also reminds me how much we have changed since those days, That sort of open graciousness died with the past.

  • This perfectly captures how young some people once were back in '69-'70, they look like the young couples you see today, if you captured this pair in a time machine and brought them into the present they'd fit right in. Hard to believe these people are now in their 70's and we are looking at a time capsule from 42 years ago. We've only just begun...Oh the irony

  • Of course, years later Crocker Bank would be swallowed up by Wells Fargo, who also would swallow up First Interstate Bank.

  • Those two adorable kids are now in their mid to late 40's and Dad died 10 years ago leaving Mom to rattle around in that empty house before her stroke and move into assisted living.

  • Who is the lady in this commercial? She looks familar?

  • As a former Mad Man I admired Hal Riney. Hal understood human beings and their emotions. He understood what makes people tick. This can be seen in the Crocker Bank commercials as he showed how a bank could help a young couple in life's journey.

  • nosey old bastard with glasses looking at everybody.

  • Hello!! Bank of America, Chase are you listening???

  • that is wayyyyyyy too cute, although i was also worried that the adorable little bunny might drown :-(

  • Was that Karen and Richard singing on this one?

  • @darrinbaker00 No, it's not them, but it's in the same style. Paul Williams sang the first two Crocker Bank commercials. I wonder if this was after the Carpenters' version came out (probably), so they tried to make it sound like them. It looks later, since the ending logo is different.

  • How many commercials did Crocker Bank make with the epic song "we've only just begun"?

  • Simple times, simple message. I miss this time in my life, I really do.

  • I love the 1970's! Great decade! I miss it!

  • Now who's singing this version?
