might sound like a crazy question but i never smoked or made hash...but wuld it intensify the bud if before the stage when u put it in your shoe you sprinkled it in a jar with bud in it..would it make it better...
@gogettazceo1 Yes! Before it's compressed it is dried and in a powdered state. This powdered form is called "keif" Keif is GREAT for sprinkling on a bowl :-)

In your video, 5:03min., you say the reason the trichomes sink to the bottom, is because trichomes are oil based and heavier than the water. Really? In your other video (Cannabutter), you put the butter (oil based) in the fridge (Cold), the water went to the bottom and the butter to the top!! Just say'n....
Good observation. You're asking a college level chemistry question.. First off: THC and butter are both oil and not water soluble so that's why neither will latch to the H20 molecules. The trichomes sink because the oil in the crystals is heavier than the water (gravity hash). The butter does not sink because butter never has sunk in water. Melted butter is lighter than water even when latched onto by passing activated THC molecules. So because it's latched to the butter

I was thinking....since the leaf is getting smashed and ground up with the ice and tool adjatation, that the trichome stocks would attach to solids of the leaf partical; hence the green tint. Note: heavier than water. 1-cup of H20 = 136.6grams 1-cup of Butter = 127 grams. 1-cup of Keif = ?grams. I'd like to look at the "hash" under a 100x microscope and see the actual trichomes/THC. Smoke on, Hoover.
@in2cycles The trichomes will break off of the plant material because of the lowered temperatures. Chemically, THC molecules bind to fat molecules... The plant material is water based so the trichomes do no reattach to the plant matter, rather they will adhere to the nearest fatty molecule which will be found in the butter, oil, or glycerine... Whichever you're using to extract :-)
NEVER use a drill or hand mixer ><, especially with dry trim/bud, it breaks up the plant material into power that gets into the hash (making it green more often then not). So keep using that spoon (wooden is better it doesnt collect trichomes on it as much)! Good tutorial man. And for finer grade hash (besides using an 8 bag kit as well) is to do 2 or 3 runs with the material at 3 min, 6 min, and 9 min. thats how the BubbleNow Machine runs.

Is hash using a 'gravity method' for lack of better terms, I'll google it before I go spreading false info. But you use a wide mouth mason jar, water, trimmings, and aquarium hose as a syphon...
