I know this sounds VERY strange, but it pains me that Regina Spektor may die before me(because she is older than I am). I just don't know how I could accept the news if she did die. When a relative or a friend of mine passes away, I bawl my eyes out like a waterfall and it feels like Regina's music connects to me the same way I connect with those friends and family and family members.
the first 30 seconds sound like a christmas/religious song. its so beautiful. wierd. im not even religious. i love regina. i sing this in school every day:):):)
@peachtable966 Oh wow, haha. My asshole little brother typed in a name for me while I wasn't looking. And where he came up with that name, I will never know. But I was too lazy to change it, since I only use this to favorite videos. :)
@peachtable966 Oh. Sigh...I should really get a new account haha. I was making my account, when I left the computer alone. Then my little brother decided to name me. XD The damage was done, and I was too lazy to change my account.
@LeRomanceNoir I love this song too, however she pronounces it incorrectly. Since the phrase is in Latin dulce is pronounced dulke and not dulche (as it would be done in Italian)...
got this off wiki: Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori is a line from the Roman lyrical poet Horace's Odes (iii 2.13). The line can be rendered in English as: "It is sweet and fitting to die for one's country.", "It is noble and glorious to die for your mother country." or "It is beautiful and honorable to die for your mother country."
Also although everyone thinks that phrase is only sarcastic because of Wilfred Owen, in Horace's version it could also be read as a sarcastic statement.

If hope gave off light it would be a soft, golden/yellow glimmer. If it gave of noise, it would be this...

@EclecticMuzik88 well technically because Latin is a dead language all pronunciations are just speculations.

@justforthesparks They are rather educated speculations though so that's why I choose to follow them ;-)

It is also quoted in full in Wilfred Owens 1st world War Poem -'Dulce et Decorum Est' ... "My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,
The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est
Pro patria mori."

Yay allusions! That's one of the many reasons I love Regina. She so smart-i-cles. :)
