  • Its like listening to Norman Collier! LOL!

  • So, not even in a parallel universe has the capability to traverse been discovered... ?

  • I am sure the intelligent cockroaches that have taken over the planet after we blew ourselves up will eventually break through to the alternate universes...

  • So pretty much we just need a really strong microwave oven.

  • The universe is speeding up you can almost feel time going faster

  • i love Kaku's talks

  • easy to avoid paying the ticket

  • And that microwave would still leave a Hot Pocket frozen in the middle.

  • @CruelLuigi Hahahaha. I'm gettin down on a Michio addiction with lots of questions in mind, and then I see this comment. Lmao. Made me laugh cause I just microwaved a hot pocket and the damn thing is cold in the middle. Lol

  • And the names of the first 3 people we meet in the first alternate universe we travel to will be: Olivia, Peter, and Walter. :)

  • and if crank it some more ... your electricity bill will reach the heavens ...

  • you cant say how old is the univers by rewinding the "tape" because u dont know wheres the center of the galaxy, or where did bigbang happen. (You dont know if its far from us or not...)

  • @94valeRa01 hes simplifying. We know there is a center because that is what all things revolve around. He may be totally wrong but science isnt definite it is what we know now, thats what we have to work off of.

  • @94valeRa01 you dont needd to know where the exact center of the universe is, because like he said if you rewind the "tape" you can trace it back words find out how fast it was accelerating and calculate , because the universe expands from a single point at least , and the age of the universe is an estimate not a a fact .

  • @XxTylerTragicxX

Objects could accelerate thx to black holes big stars etc, even change their trajectory. So thats not correct at all Q_Q . (only if ur lucky and find an object that hasnt changed its trajectory/speed u can use that)

  • @94valeRa01 you're clearly dumb ...

  • Damn the Christians strike again

  • someone fix the sound on this!

  • He's right. God will save Christians before "End Times" by taking them to Heaven which is a parallel universe.

  • @WebVManReturns Uh ... no.

  • @WebVManReturns Why does he have to wait? Take them now, please.

  • If it is true that Deja vú, is a moment in our life that we can see a parallel universe,... It may also be possible that lucid dreams are in fact us seeing/interacting with another parallel universe.

Have you ever sleep near of a mobilphone? If so you may have noticed that your dreams, were showing you diferente realitys at the same time! Perhaps mobilphones make your brain vibrate in some wave frequecy lines,... that capture other parallel universes' curve frequecy lines.

  • 17 people don't want us entering their universe...don't worry guys you're safe for another 1 trillion years.

  • physics is my fav science.

  • this man makes the e2 + h2_rgg5gg+£445 + my ass into cool sh1t i love this guy think his great, if the human population 6 billion was him, we would be a type 2 civilation 3 year ago :)

  • "Simply hitting the rewind button". He makes it sound so simple

  • Sure, and we land in one that's already dead.

  • I have watched his videos for 2 and a half hours, my head hurts so much.

  • wow you just blow my mind

  • Speaking of of microwaves, I hear you can get plasma by microwaving grapes. Is that true?

  • @Tridecalogism yes it is

  • So that mean unintelligent humans will live on forever?

  • moral of the story?dont piss of high school kids

  • its better to keep it real and "dumb" for the sake of being "normal" and "sane"

  • kaku..what did happen to that highschool boy? o.O

  • would the law of gravitation not hold us to our own galaxy? and to the sun for that matter? although if the rate of expansion really is exponential, I suppose it would be possible for the expansion to reach an almost infinate rate, fast enough to separate even the bonds between each individual atom

  • @williampatrickwoods You are right, if the growth of the universe is exponential,

we don't get a freeze, like he mentioned, but a rip. If that's the case everything will eventually get torn apart, first galaxies, then solar systems, then planets and so forth

in the end even spacetime itself will get torn apart.

  • so we need a big mirror?

  • ok but no matter how much we escape into another universe we we can not escape dying itself unless if we find out how to create a universe itself. Now that would be Godly, wouldn't it?

  • Final stage of the microwave creates my girlfriends chili farts..

  • hey im in the 4th dimension

  • Sliders is real!

  • White light is Blue when coming towards you and Red when traveling away from you.

  • The sky's already black at night. Too much damn pollution.

  • Tat energy can be achieved in CERN in mega large atom collusion Whit maximum power of CERN! Imagine Mega large CERN in space whit power of sun! Fuck yea that could rip some holes in fabric of time and space!

  • And if you crank it up some more ? :D

  • @marco1991pl you'll make a hole in all on space-time of all the space times?

But dude, we can't even travel to another galaxy with the speed of light, you imagine traveling to another universe?

We'll need atleast 2 Chuck Norrises to power that microwave.

  • @Jamsessionroom1337 Dude, let's make it happen.

  • Was anyone else's audio glitchy?

  • how can the hadron collider prove parallel universe? o.O

  • to*

  • i would love to have this guy be my teacher

  • I love watching science shows that this guy is in. He's so freaking smart lol

  • This conclusion about the ultimate demise is extraordinarily humbling.

  • I wish he was my physics teacher. He was one of my inspirations when I was little only second to Neils Bohr

  • I love Michio Kaku

  • Comment removed

  • you heard him, if we die in a bog FREEZE, we need to fight it with global warming

  • That high school kid then got raped into another dimension.

  • bang popcorn in .0000000000768 of a millisecond

  • so if i put some water in my microwave for about 30 mins ill make a portal to the opposite universe??

  • @flashfire320 exactly

  • Well that's one hell of a microwave...

  • i like Physics but i don`t understand it

  • hahahah every time it cuts out i keep thinking he's swearing

  • why the heck does it keep cutting out?

  • What heppens if you crank it up some more?

  • Couldn't some of the red starlight be explained by the fact that, over great distances even light begins to lose energy, thus the "shift" down the spectrum to lower wavelengths as light from so far away loses energy on it's way here?

I mean, I'm no professional theoretical physicist, I'm just saying, there could be other explanations as to why most stars appear redshifted.

  • @otakuribo I'm sure that has been thought of, and I'm sure it has been mathematically researched. That seems like something that would have been guessed at. Nice thinking, though. You should research it. Maybe you'll find something interesting.

  • If we had the massive amount energy and technology required to enter other universes, couldn't we just create our own?

  • @dagamer555 same question..:)

  • @dagamer555 According to this same theoretical physicist, any civilization that has become galactic i.e. mastered the energy enough to travel these vast distances in space, (he calles them stage III civilizations) not only have the ability to travel to other universes, but also have the power to create them. He gives 2 examples of type III civilizations; The Empire in Star-wars and the invaders from Independence day. Fascinating man, this Michio Kaku!

  • @ishikawaml because relating real information to tards like you isn't possible.

  • @Sangimino81kg My friend, I'm not real sure why you are attacking me. Please be more specific as to what I said (or wrote, in this case) that offended you so deeply so that I may argue my point a bit more effectively or concede to the better point....

  • if we go in parallel universe before the big freeze, wont that parallel universe be facing a end to?

  • @MrVampdude then go to another universe

  • @MrVampdude good question i was wondering the same ... but i think that our universe will die when expanding reaches high values ..... cause of dark energy ..... so if the universe we are going to is younger thus the expanding wouldn't be so fast and we'll live on (if we can live at all in a parallel universe) are you with me ?

  • "We've all heard this"...... Im deaf :/

  • crank it bitch, crank it

  • I want to buy that microwave.

  • @sephiroth9819 Me too, but they were sold out :(

  • That other universe will be called "Heaven".

    Not literally.

  • Why after the break energy will be high?

  • Excluding others, I'm skeptical of 3 scientific concepts: time travel , Boltzmann' Brains & parallel universes. Truth be told there is only circumstantial evidence for the last 2, the first I hold to to violate the rules of logic & consequently untenable in principia. I welcome objections to my stance.

  • dont mess with kaku's speeding ticket cases.

  • Meanwhile, in Soviet Russia...

  • Am I the only one who has the audio cut in and out? If not please get a better microphone sometime. It would be appreciated.

  • ahahahhaahahahhahahaah 2:00 - 2:20

  • According to Fringe, if we cross to another universe, the fabric of reality will start to disintegrate lol

Advice: If we are to cross to another universe,,,, be sure to check that that universe doesn't make up mostly of anti-matter. Imagine this "Hooray we got through!!..." Bam --> you become gamma ray xD

  • high school kid is an asshole

  • @themanso08 no he is good troll kid

  • doppler effect .. so this is why mosquitos are so annoying when they pass near you ears. lol

  • i need to learn the equation of the light changing so i can get out of any speeding ticket..any one tell me the name of the equation?

  • Raiden has all the answers he's not a mortal man.

  • all theese made up numbers and estimates

scientist dont know much of anything really

  • @via6delta haha of course the bible does though right? The numbers are too complicated for you because you have a simple mind

  • @MrQuan2u oh yeah i want to see you count to 603 billion and travel twice the speed of light into another universe...go ahead ill wait

  • @via6delta Made up numbers? No. It is fact

  • we are born blind the only thing that let us see is light

  • I can just imagine someone in the future just going "F**k this, I'm out".

  • dont really like it how the physicist feels compelled to talk about science as if it was something mystical and magical. that is really only necessary in the US where theres so many religious morons...

  • @mkv1614 What the hell would be 'mystical' about what he said??

  • @semperFi4ever100 Parallel Universes are NOT science. that is not testable. Science here tries to eat up metaphysics domain in order to satisfy your american need for spirituality.

    science, do you fucking job.

  • @mkv1614 It's not YET testable.

  • @semperFi4ever100 Ok, great. Then its like with Russels teapot orbiting the sun. We can not YET test that it exists, because our telescopes are not good enough, therefore we allow ourselves to be spiritual and just "believe" there is a teapot.

That is scientific nonsense. We have no reason to assume a teapot orbiting the sun, nor have we reasons to assume multiverses. Its just people want science to become their religion, because they need spirituality.

  • I thought the pitch is higher on either direction and lower the closer it is to you...

  • Just like Alice eh,so mushrooms are the key to the parallel universe...

All jokes aside this was genuinely interesting, thanks Big Think

  • @MrIrishBilly for a trillion year?

if you have enough nuclear energy to survive in the desert, would you stay there or would you use it to charge your car and leave.

  • jacki chan

  • How do I become the next Karate Kid?

  • it is. and realistically a bad idea. as the moon gets hit with far more meteors than the earth.

Secondly... the hypothetical is that we Dont get wiped out by meteor..we make it 2Billion years into the future.. "THEN" The sun will swallow us. so regardless if we are here or not the planets destruction is inevitable. Hencefoth any intelligent life should find somewhere else to go. (what i wonder is are there any such civilizations currently en route)

  • We need some serious laws & pre-cautions against those microwave ovens. Someone please confiscate all house-hold-electronics from Michio Kaku. Still it left me wondering, if I crank it even more ?

  • One more step needs to be taken. The physical universe is just a ripple in the 11th dimension. The 11th dimension will ultimately be found to be nothing other than Consciousness. The unification of subjective and objective reality will be the final unification theory. Movement between universes will be simple because Consciousness will be found to exist at the Planck scale and by simply willing a thing to be at that level it comes into being. Consciousness is the portal to all Universes.

  • @Indigovioletfilms this isnt the green lantern corps...

  • @jonjon2034 Lol. Maybe not, but today's science fiction is tomorrow's fact.

  • STUDENT: hey that only happens at the speed of light

    TEACHER: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • vrroooooommmmm,,,, equuuuuuuuueeeeee.

  • Michio,if you're reading this,I want you to know that if you're ever to run for president of any country,I would vote for you!Cause it's been awhile since they elected a smart president.

  • If we could generate that kind of energy why would we need to go to a parallel universe.

We'd have all the heat we need to survive.

  • @MrIrishBilly because, that energy is unstable and starts to break down the universe itself, he said.

  • @draconcrazy

He''s talking about a worm hole of sorts to another universe.

But even if we could travel to an other alternate universe our atoms would be out of sync

possibly a teleporter could sort that out but it would take help from the other side which is possible as they'll probably trying to escape their universe too and will have the come up with the same technology so they can escape.

    : )

  • @MrIrishBilly Well he is talking about a time.. about 2 to 3 Billion years in the future.

At that point in time.. our sun . . (big fireball in sky) will grow to a Red Giant.. this will in effect Swallow our planet.. Since none of the other planets in the solar system will be habitable.. we need to find a "NEW" universe to go to..

    Thats why.

  • @jonjon2034

For a race that could be wiped out at any minute of it's existence (Meteors etc)

2 to 3 billions years is a very long time indeed the odds are not good for us.

Maybe we could all get on the moon and we'd have a chance of breaking its orbit

by then due to its small size and we could use it a space ship to leave no wait isn't that

    a scifi show

    : )

  • @jonjon2034 No. That's not why. He's talking about entropy. The eventual end of all light and heat and energy in the universe. Death. Everywhere and everything. Not the supernova event of our sun Sol. >.>

  • @MrIrishBilly

He kinda just said that heat wasn't the only problem, the theory holds that thought would be impossible at that time, Possibly even kinetics would be impossible and nothing would move.

  • @marklenthecool

Well what ever happens happens if it can be done regardless of danger we'll do it.

    : )

  • @MrIrishBilly Nailed it.

  • @MrIrishBilly you cant create energy meaning when big freeze happens there is NOTHING to convert into heat.

  • dr. Kaku, you are a fantastic mind.

  • Comment removed

  • "not even consciousness can exist after that"

    i disagree

  • @theblueisyou I'm not even sure how consciusness could exists trillions of years later when our sun has already died, and we MIGHT be dead. We might be in some other part of our galaxy.

  • @1Hydraulic1

Do you know what consciousness is?

  • @theblueisyou It's your brain functionig. That's it. Without Space, there is no Life, no nothing. Got it ? :-)

  • @aFemale1

I hope you are kidding, lol.

  • @theblueisyou consciousness is a brain function. if you think its something more, then you sir, are a retard.

  • @sagar246246 First off let me say that I do not have a religion. I'm a freethinker. So this is not coming from some radical Christian, okay? Most intellectuals, especially neuroscientists believe that consciousness is not a result of brain function. Though I must say, your comment seems to be a result of anger, perhaps denial? Why is it that many atheists claim to be "better" than theists but they behave in the same manner? i.e "I'm right, you're wrong. If you don't think so, you're stupid."

  • @theblueisyou "neuroscientists believe that consciousness is not a result of brain function"

show me some proof, any peer review research paper or even an interview of a credible scientist.

  • Comment removed

  • @sagar246246

I noticed that you haven't answered my question. But before I pull scientists' quotes from the web, how about you explain your first statement. What "brain process" creates fundamental experience?

  • @theblueisyou haven;t answered your question?? any one with a half of a brain cell can tell your "question" is that old bullshit argument from apologists that atheist hate god because they had a bad childhood or they blamed god for this and that or they are sad and angry people.

"Why is it that many atheists claim to be "better" than theists but they behave in the same manner?"

not any atheist claim that, thats actually what the creationist says. we are no better as in a sense that are... (1)

  • @theblueisyou.... superior somehow, we are generally better educated and informed, don't believe me? google it, many polls have conducted the same thing.

"What "brain process" creates fundamental experience? "

that's the most stupid question I've ever heard. you were arguing other people that consciousness is not restricted to just brain. you didn't explained your position neither you gave any evidence to support it... (2)

  • @theblueisyou .... and as far your question about what "brain process" goes, do you really want me to pinpoint in which part exactly does it occur? or are implying that its more than that, which was actually my first question, which YOU haven't responded yet.

  • So Dr. Kaku is space the same thing as gravity?

  • @ahadd100 whao.... wait... what? space is same as gravity? how could you even get that idea?

  • @sagar246246 Hi sagar oh I just made a simple observation its seems to me that gravity and space react in a similar manner when influenced by some mass. Dr. Kaku being a thoeretical physicist I just thought I would ask. Have a great day sagar.

  • I love this guy. he is like the jesus of physics ! this guy just solved the end of the very universe life and everything with a fu*king microwave oven! suck on it space time.

  • did he just explain physics with Microwaves ovens ??!! Superb :)

  • P.S. I'm from New Jersey, And until this very day I Love ALL my Teachers. Except that one. However, as all Kids who "grow up". And learned something, there will always be that one...

  • yeeeewwwwwww-

  • You owe me money for my microwave Dr Kaku!!!

  • He sounded so cheesy XD

  • My stoned, stoned mind was just blown...

  • "...there's a loop hole in the laws of physics ...perhaps intelligent life will be able to master what is called... the punk energy..."

  • The universe is younger than our debt is big

  • I like Dr. Kaku but he really flubbed the joke about the traffic ticket.

  • Might one be able to measure the speed of the Universe's expansion? Ergo measurement into the future.

  • I bet that microwave could heat up my ramen pretty good..

  • This guy is a teacher? where does he teach

  • @sulsaboy new york university

  • Now that I've got off the floor laughing my ass off. I First have to say, If I were that kids teacher, I would be PROUD to pay the ticket. But as an average person I WOULD BE PISSED... Secondly, by the time "The world ends" not one person reading this post, Or watching this video will be alive.. So go out and enjoy life....

  • @commonman80 Yeah? , and what if death is only a metamorphosis :)

  • @vladdrac88, Hell I'm Drunk.. So what the heck.. My INSANE theory is that ALL "Living" matter consist of Electronic Impulse. So once we are "Dead" the energy/electronic impulse, is re-absorbed to continue the "life" process.

Yeah, I know I'm crazy.. The term "metamorphosis", is to small for the process..

  • @commonman80 "Energy / electronic impulse". Like you, I chose a word or words for something never yet seen or measured. Wether by "Will" or by "Chance" "Consciousness" appeared and seems to be making an attempt to make 'Itself' a permanent player in 'The Universe' whatever "The Universe" actually turns out to be. I for one, have no doubt that 'IT' will succeed, leaving only death to extinction. :)

  • @commonman80 How do you know that? We may very well still be alive.

  • @commonman80 i am a scientific evolutionist i hope to still be here.look up the church of scientific evolution it may change you mind.

  • @commonman80 It's not about wanting to survive, it's about wanting humanity to survive. It is much like rooting for a protagonist in a work of fiction, although it has no effect on your life, it can still bring you joy and satisfaction. I would like to die knowing humanity will live on without me.

  • @DibzIsHere, Whether you know it or not, What you posted is the fundamental purpose of ALL life forms. Unless the life form is genetically dysfunctional. where as, it is programed to destroy (ITSELF) and its future.

    JMO :-)

  • @commonman80 Heh. I'm thinking that when the u
