  • Final Cut Pro is not giving me any option to compress?! Why not? Help.

  • @onegist

If you have FCP 7 you will have to go to "File" and then click on "Send To. . ." then pick "Compressor" Hope that helps.

  • is this a good way when using AVCHD to --> apple prores 422 hq?

In other words is this best way to remain HD quality?

  • @hybridnysten

I have been told yes, but this video is for standard video DVD's only. A very basic basic video to dvd how to video. You might want to check on a HD how to video. Hope this helps.

    for DVD Studio Pro :)

  • Fantastic, this is exactly what I needed, great job!

  • Loved your tutorial. Thanks!

  • I did what your instruct however my 1440x1080 output has a trails on hand movements... and the dvds are muddy...

  • @sebek1968 Sorry, the the video I show is for basic NTSC video, but try (while in final cut pro) adding a flicker filter from "Effects, Video, Flicker Filter" Then, set the filter at max, then export the video again. This should fix the problem. If you find out a better way, could you post it? Thanks.

  • Nice tutorial, amigo,

easy 2 follow, but I have a question.

I do alot of subtitling & have to rip movies then add STs(hard coded) in FC.

When i export to Compressor 4 DVD, it opens up up, but 3 other presets appear in the project window, & FCP says its prosessing. Takes forever & most of time FCP hangs or does not respond.

    Vids r between 60 n 80 mins.

Need 2 learn more Compressor as its got more options than reencoding & adding chapter markers in DVDSP.

    Any help/solution would b sweet

    Cheerz

  • @MariettaMangler Did you try to drag the dvd settings to the "untitled 1" tab in compressor and click submit and then, this happens? If so, what are the 3 other presets? What do they say? I'll try to solve it for you.

  • I think i sorted it amigo. Im sure sending your sequence directly 2 Cpressor from the browser is perfect 4 small seuqnces, but 4 big sequnces its a nightmare! Best 2 add DVD chapter markers in FC, then export timeline as a QT movie (untick Make self contained), open up Cpressor then drag the file in & add the nessecary presets u want. I dont wanna b a downer, but this was longer, but easier. It takes hours if u 'send to' from the browser, whereas take 25 mins 2 export from FCP

    Cheerz anyways m8

  • I followed your stepped - Export - Using Compressor. . . Compressor but that's about it! Nothing else came up like yours did!?!
