@BDImpressionist The prices are available on Terry McGee's site (google it). I paid a little more than his listed price because I bought it directly from Grey Larsen to avoid waiting.
As for the fingerings, it's the same as a penny whistle with the exception of the keys as (almost all) whistles don't have keys. If you get a keyless flute, it'll be just the same as your whistle. :)
If you're looking for more affordable option, I highly reocmmed the Casey Burns Folk Flute.
@AchingOvaries You can easily find the Casey Burns site via google as well (I can't post links in comments) The Casey Burns Folk Flute is only a few hundred and it's very loud, very easy to play, and very sturdy. I plan on selling my Desi Seery polymer flute for a Casey Burns Folk Flute soon just because it's so much louder and easier to play. Let me know if you have any other questions. ^_^
It's a Terry McGee flute, (just google Terry McGee) and I bought through Grey Larsen (just google Grey Larsen) and you can see the prices for the various options. I'm glad you like it. :)
do you play with a more warm air on this instrument? I have no clue as to how you would play a flute of any kind, but it is ever going to bother me until I learn how.
It depends entirely on the type of tone you're wanting to get it. If you use a wide column of air (which is "warmer" to most people) you'll get a bigger fuller and brighter sound. If you play with a narrow stream of air, you'll get a more pinched and dark sound. I play more in the second style, but not consciously. It's just because I'm lazy and the wide air stream takes more work for me because I learned differently.
Yes it is! I actually have four ocarinas and I plan to make vids of them soonish. The one you can get a glimpse of here is a Night ocarina that I purchased in Japan. The other three I have all came from Fred Harris in Summertown, TN. His business name is Dragon Ocarina, I have two raku and one in moss green. Okay, now I'm inspired. I'll post vids soon. :P
Spirit, the tuning is close enough;this is music not science.

Nice attempts but can't depend on equal temperament. Its always going to be out of tune. Need to learn Svara.
