mg2nd, you are missing the point, there's no doubt in everyone's mind, Manny Pacquiao is good in what he does. His "commercial success" made it unanimous to be flag bearer. So,if a deserving former Filipino Olympian, with Bronze and Silver medals, be put aside and say...Manny is more appropriate. What's the point of aspiring to be a gold medalist...if, one day, they will decide a celebrety like Manny Pacquiao to represent. Think about it? Don't get me wrong, I admire Manny...I think he's great!

Manny Pacquiao is NOT an Olympian, why is he given the prestige of carrying and representing Philippines? How can a young Filipino get inspired and to aspire as an Olypmian.
