That commercial is a lot better than the crap they tried last year with the "warrior". Now, the only thing to do is ... actually show the commercial. I watch a lot of NBC, and I never see any commericals about the NHL.

well, i live and canada, and im happy with wat i get 2 watch, cbc has a game every saturday 4 sure, tsn always has at least 1 game a week and rsn has a game every now and then, and now i get 2 watch nbc, so kick ass, im stacked!

One more thing for the people who may possibly be watching the All Star Game for a first time look at hockey well....DON'T!! If this game is anything like the past All Star Games it'll be a ridiculous over scoring game thats been toned down on the physical aspect.

I don't know where better to post this than here so here it is. Personally as a Canadian hockey fan and player of 16 years my view on the NHL All Star Game is it's absolute crap. In todays market the All Star Game is targeted at gaining more fans or keeping the newly obtained ones in the last two years. Note for the new fans who are drawn to hockey for a physical aspect, be for warned that there will be NONE!

kinda sad how NBC is marketing hockey. As simply 3 periods of "boom", hits, and hip checks. There are also boring parts where both teams are failry reserved, and sometimes there are not many goals. Its a beautiful game with great speed, goals, and incredible athletes.

yeah I agree. Im a rangers fan so hockey is very big here but we don't get many games. I mean i get the occasional devils and islanders and whatever is on OLN but thats it. This helps out alot.

I believe that the agreement between the NBC and NHL is that NBC doesn't pay anything up front, and they split the profits from ads and stuff.

The NHL and Vs./OLN is a different agreement - I think Vs. pays $30 million.

"Unlike previous network television deals with the NHL, NBC paid no rights fee, and the network and the league will split advertising revenue. In other words, the NHL will not receive any guaranteed money upfront. NBC would also cover its own production and distribution costs, whereas some minor sports leagues pay for broadcast time and production, but keep any advertising revenue."

I live in Detroit so I get CBC's Hockey Night in Canada on Saturdays, along with the Monday and Tuesday games on Versus. Then FSN Detroit has the Wings games. A Thursday hockey night would be perfect for me <3 haha
