  • I want an Amiga....and this looks like a very nice game for it.

  • @MattTheSaiyan Probably the best arcade port there is :)

  • Wooo Whdload :)

I have this version on disc, and whdload on my 600, and also on the nes cart. The nes version is not as good as the Amiga version.

  • Nice I have this on the Pc engine

  • i think the master system version is just as good if not better than this apart from its music.

  • I'm 32 and this takes me back to some long and fun hours as a child!! lol This was SO cool!

  • @drodga Its worth playing for the music alone!

  • I came to this video as I was singing the theme tune to myself on the way home from Uni. Cheers for the video and lol @ 4:26 - bugger.

  • @kumquatmagoo Its an awesome game, just wish I could find the tune for my mobile phone.

  • @RibNSpicY Its a great version by far the best music.

  • fuckin amazing game! takes my mind right back!

  • man oh man do i have faint memories of playing this game

  • Nice video.

  • Windows ultimate amiga emulator he is using. I too have a usb version of that joystick. good for retro emus.

  • @bazfanv2 Me? No I'm using Classic Workbench on an actual Amiga 1200 with a CF Hard Drive with WHDLoad installed.

  • @Lorfarius Good. Its just so many ppl on here claim to be using actual hardware when infact there using emus.Paul3ukisbest or whatever is name is tried to claim he was using a real C64 once, when obviosly he was using frodo, he forgot to remove frodos on screen icons.

  • @bazfanv2 Nah I always make sure to point out when I'm using an emulator. I had a few people saying the same thing when I was doing Neo Geo vids and ended up showing the system off (again) on cam just to prove it. I'm clearing out a big chunk of my retro gear these days though as I've decided to concentrate on NES games. I did pick up a MAME PC (vid on channel) about a month ago so once that's working I'll start using it for more general stuff, again I'll point this out in the vids.

  • Never had the Amiga version as a kid, even though it's ironcally the version I played the most, But I owned it on the Amstrad myself.

My personal fave is the Mega Drive version, though that's technically the sequel.

  • This is a realy good example of how an Amiga conversion should be.Looks almost identical to the arcade one,the music actualy sounds better on this one to me.Just a few enemy characters missing on this one (4 or something) and a couple of differently designed levels.I wish all amiga conversions were this acurate.

  • It also shows just how good Ocean could be when they made the effort.

  • its been ages the last time i saw this amiga game!!!

  • i gotta agree with you this is such a accrute conversion. i never played this version as i only ever had the 8bit computers. great video by the way

  • Thanks. You should consider doing an 8Bit wars on this. Just about every 8Bit system known to man had a copy.

  • after watching your video, i did do a 8bit war on this game(i had done 1 before on my old channel)

  • Its really good on the Amiga eh? I never played this game on the arcades.. I played with it only on the Amiga i had. And it looks almost identical to the Arcade version... Maybe there are a few levels missing however ? I dont know for sure.

  • agreed this game is pretty much a.rcade perfect, im really glad lorfarius posted this as i had never seen this game in action before

  • It looks great! :)

  • Great video dude, nice to see you got WHDLoad up and running. My hdd has packed in on my other computer which is a real pain, it had all my WHDLoad saves and installers, amiga programs, can't transfer anything between Amiga and pc either at moment. Great version of NZ Story, it is clearly miles better than the PC Engine one.

  • I used a CF adaptor from ebay and spent about 3 days just copying WHD games over, dread to think having to do it again if the A1200 died on me :|

  • I knew my hdd was on the way out for ages but the pc kept on going and i convinced myself i wouldn't need to get one,so spent the money on games.

  • I've got a DVD packed with all the KGWHDLoad packs and ADF's if you want a copy? Couple of GB's worth of full games in there.

  • When you got the hard drive fitted in how did you actually transfer WHDLoad onto the AMIGA along with the classic workbench?

I want both on my setup once I get a chance to put the bloody thing in.

I also have the problem that I have to install a doggey 3.1 workbench because one of my 3.0 disks had a virus on it.

  • I used a Compact Flash adaptor that plugs straight into the PCMCIA slot. You can pick them up pretty cheap on ebay if you buy them from Hong Kong.

  • I also used WinUAE to setup CWB and if you are doing the same you can make it use a downloaded ADF of WB3.1 to do the initial setup.

  • I have that already but how do I get around setting the bugger up?

  • If you want an easy to use WB3.1 setup for PC then try tracking down a copy of Amiga Forever. Full WB setup and the ADF's are on the CD so you can transfer it to normal floppies.

  • LOl classic

  • I was never a fan of the speccy version. This looks great though. Levels look different as well. Nice and colourful and enough to be addictive.

  • I think you like this one lol ive never heard you so happy playing a game lol

That music is brilliant though, so addictive :)

  • I still can't get the theme out of my head!

  • What a brilliant platformer! Nice music.. sticks to your head :) Oh..there's a PCE version? Hmm.. I know there's a MD one..

  • I think Ianwilson1978 did a vid of the MD version :)

  • what a powerful machine the amiga is,i need to get more games for my amiga there hard to find over here

  • You should consider picking up a Compact Flash card and setting it up as a HD. Very easy to do and make it much easier to get titles over there.

  • Cute looking game n_n never played it before but i think i have it on zx spectrum,i think it will be slightly downgraded compared to this lol.

  • Monochrome on the speccy but still a lot of fun :)

  • Lol, that was very entertaining, especially you singing along to it lol

  • I'm still humming the tune and its the morning after!

  • You got it bad lol

  • I think I have this on my 1200, I may have to dig it out tomorrow after watching this!!!

  • True, this is way better than the PC Engine one, looks really great!

  • Great Video mate. :) Yes, it was me that did a video of the Speccy version and posted it as a video response when you did the video of the PC-Engine version. :) The Amiga version looks spot on to the Arcade version. :) The Speccy version is a good conversion as well. :)

  • awesome. believe it or not, its identical to the ST version

  • ST? Never heard of that before :p

  • Looks and sounds outstanding.. memories, memories!

  • loved this on the Amiga such a classic game too. Never actually did finish it though.

  • Really does back up your criticisms of the pc engine version :)

  • I got this with my Amiga 'Batman' pack. One of my favourite games for the machine. Forgot about that warp zone on level 1!

  • I think this was as close to a Mario game that the Amiga ever got especially with those warp zones.

  • Nah, that prize goes to Giana Sisters. A direct ripoff.

  • I used to have this for the PC Engine it was a fun little game.

  • I did a PCE version a couple of weeks back but wasn't impressed :(

  • I thought it was fun but ended up trading it to a friend for a few Atari 800 games i was looking for so i must not of been too impressed myself lol.
