Thank goodness there is people like you in the world watching over these sweet natured animals. I couldn't imagine mistreating basset hounds (or any animal for that matter).
My little Molly girl is coming along nicely. Still freaks out at the slightest movement of humans but today she actually wrestled with me! Such a giant leap of faith for her! She has gained some weight to hide those ribs sticking out.... Lamb and Rice. She knows that our home means safely as well now... when we go out to potty and she gets spooked she runs for the front door. Its been slow going but I will NEVER give up on this poor abused little girl! Shots, microchip, ear meds, and love
you folks are angels on earth. thank god you were able to rescue them! beautiful hounds. if i ever heard of these mills around my area, i'd take swift, mad action very quickly. keep up the good work.

I love bassets so much! I rescued mine from a shelter and have had her for almost a year now. Her name is Bertha. I would love to rescue more bassets in the future!!
Bassets are the greatest . I have had 2 ,unfortunatley I had to put the 2nd one down this past April of 08 . I still miss her as though it was yesterday ,she was 14 and such a part of the family..You will have many memorable moments with Bertha..They are by far the kindest dogs..
I will always have bassets as well. I will always work with basset hound rescue and do all I can. They are such dear hounds! Thanks for the comment tabby47! Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
I love these sweet sweet dogs. We had one. We rescued her from the pet shop. She was the sweetest thing and we didn't realize that she had so many medical problems. We kept her until she was 18 months. During those months we had her, we tought her how to walk again and how to be a dog again She had urinary problems and we weren't their all the time so we gave her to our local rescue She had a tumor in her bladder and our vet couldn't find it She changed my life since I got her she tought me love
I have 2 basset hounds. A female named Chloe and a male named Anakin Skywalker. I bought Chloe and I adopted Anakin from a rescue. They are the sweetest dogs on earth.
It is so hard to believe that anyone who has a Basset come into their lives could be so cuel as to not love them. i have four and could not image life without one of them, they are my hearts!1 They do indeed become your kids in every way!keep doing what you do
precious video:) my husband and i had 2 bassets, sadly one passed away last summer, but we rescued him from a humane society as he was an older dog and we didn't want to see him put to sleep he was one of the sweetest bassets on earth, thankfully our other basset is still w/us and will continue to amuse us every day:) i only hope that these wondeful people continue their hard work at resucing these sweet, loving bassets! good work guys!
Cat, it amazes me every day of my life how willing people are to help these precious hounds. And every time I see this video, I am reduced to tears of joy. I can't thank YOU enough for creating it.
I still hear from the new families of these beautiful souls and they are all doing well in their new homes.
Another interesting fact is that there were 2 cars per leg, and two people per car to handle the dogs. That's 44 cars and 88 people who volunteered their time to help these beautiful hounds! OMBR will be forever grateful to Tanya, and to Suzanne Fitch of MABHR, and Karen Fortier of NEBHR for helping these hounds. They have all been adopted and are all in wonderful, loving homes; they are, for the first time in their lives, happy! That's what rescue is all about.
Sherry you are so correct! It is amazing how many people were involved in this wonderful rescue story. You are my hero! Thank you so much. Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
best wishes from mexico..i rescue one female basset..the owners trowh to the garbage her basset..the reason?all the 10 puppies die and she get a serious infection in her vagina,42 centigrades of temperature, skinny, fleas, etc etc..

Thank you lupejudoka! What a wonderful person you are to rescue that poor, poor basset from the garbage. She is one lucky hound. I love the basset's odor! I think they smell like potato chips. hehehe - LOL! Please visit my profile and you can see how to get on my website and send me a picture of Daisy Clearwater Revival! Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
Lupejodoka! We love you so much! We wish you lived next door to us. We could have fun together. Your are a great person. You are a great friend! Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
I have a basset hound myself called Jägermaister (Jekku) and it brings tear to my eyes to see that these dogs had to suffer..Its great that theres people who want to help these lovely bassets..
so nice to see that these hounds are getting this second chance! So great to see that there are still people in the world who care so passionately for animals, keep up the good work! (Joey, the Blue Basset from IL sends drool and slurps to all involved with the effort!)
Five years ago our "beautiful boy" passed away; he was 11. Although we had his papers, someone later told us that he would have to have come from a puppy mill regardless. We'll never know for sure, but we are glad that we had him from 10 weeks old. He truly brightened our lives in the ways that only bassets can. We have not been in a position to get another basset since then, but we are considering fostering in our area. I look forward to seeing the second part of your video. Blessings!
