Laraaji helped make MOMIX one of the most successful dance groups on Earth with his score for their silhouette art piece called "E.C." (for "Extra Celestial")
Eno follows his heart, though he wouldn't put it that way. He blew my mind again and again with album after album. I bought this album in a used cassette bin, I don't know why. After being properly trounced and tranced by this beauty I discovered that Eno was involved. No surprise.
This is my cousin. He was a member of Donald Byrd's band waaay back. He went by Larry, probably E. Gordon on the album. He has at least one more release. I have it on tape, but it's slightly damaged.
One of my favorite albums, the only one of the Ambient series I still listen to. I always liked the way the tunes are programmed to get slower and slower. Listening to the last cuts is like being on the edge of sleep with consciousness slipping in and out.
Haven't heard this in ages.Still have the record somewere.I wonder how laraaji is doing .I enjoyed a S.F. concert in 1988 very much. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for sharing.I have just spend couple of days in home getting over with flu helping myself meditate with Eno's music.Great time despite runny nose and temperature.
to all brian eno fans, your probably the smartest people in the world.
I just watched HOME right here on youtube, for all those smart people reading this, please take some time out to view it, you will not be displeased. cheers brian, your the man
I hated this peice when I first listened to it, but that probably had to do more with it's 'uniqueness' from the rest of the series more than anything. I'm actually thinking about picking this one up soon. :D
@LighterOfDewbies There was a series of four albums Brian Eno released from 1978-1982 in the "Ambient" sequence. 1 & 4 are Eno solo, 2 is Eno with Harold Budd, and this is a track for 3, which is a Laraaji album produced by Eno.
Actually, I don't think he uses a hammer dulcimer at all. He just uses small wooden hammers to play his zither. I saw him do this at the Healing Sounds Intensive in Boulder, Colorado. He also plays it with brushes, which produces a very subtle, cool effect. Anyway, great stuff! Thanks much for posting it!
I love listening to this when it snows.

Die 'video' is een beetje ... eh ... 'altijd hetzelfde', maar die muziek is van het beste dat ooit op deze aardbol is gemaakt, hé.

You know, I'll be honest with you, this is my least favorite of the Ambient Series.

Isn't it everyone's? ;)
It really was out of character for the series, yeah. But it makes for a good standalone album.
