I know what you mean... it's not recommended editing in h264 anyways and rendering times suck... I'm gonna experiment with ProRes and maybe DV, but we'll see... thanks a lot for response, and great vid, what a camera! keep em comin!
Thanks much! There's more on the way. I got lucky as I'm in Kansas and managed to get on a waiting list at Wolfe's Camera in Topeka.. They called me when it came in and I drove 45 minutes immediately to catch one. They are still listing "in stock" on their website actually.
For my workflow, I have a G5, so I can't really edit the h264 raw. I use compressor to re-compress as ProRes then edit in FCP and output to a mov file using MPEG4. I would use h264 but there are MASSIVE gamma problems.
