Quoting a reference book, numerous representations of the lampstand from different parts of Europe and the Middle East dating from the third to the sixth centuries that show a tripod base, a few with animal feet.
i found a minorah with "9" places for candles. what does it mean??? or would it be just something thats decoration?? its got strange zodiac type symbols on it. and a lion.
A 9 branched menorah is called a chanukiyah, and is used at the clebration of Chanukah (or Hanukkah - - it is spelled different ways).
Since a chanukiyah serves a different purpose from the Temple Menorah, the rules for its design are different, and it is not unusual to see all sorts of artistic and playful variations.

@acerb45666555 it is called a Chanukiah, and it has 8 places with a ninth for the lighting candle so that one can remember all 8 days of chanukah.
