Great Video man! I'm trying to do a 'around the world' trip and I'm strongly considering the KLR650, do you have any advice regrading the bike, would you recommend it for that purpose?
@MyOldjohn Hey, I got one too. I think it's a great bike for the money. He's right when he says it's not for the interstate so much. I have the lowered fender and fork strengthener and I still don't like going 60+ , especially around traffic. But, I didn't really buy it to take the main roads. It hauls a lot of things if you get the saddles and tank bags. I use ammo cans that are water tight, but they are a bit heavy ( like 30 pounds ). Riding is some hard business, so take plenty of breaks.
Dude. You rock. I have an '09 KLR. My favorite part is when you tell us that everything you own(except the ultralight) is on that motorcycle. I paused the video and started yelling YES! YES! FREEDOM!!!! I want a back pack powered parachute one day too... Thanks for posting and thanks sooo much for your tips because I plan on taking as many trips like this as possible. How much oil did you have to add?dont lie,the words out on these bikes,especially 08s Ive heard reports of 1 qt.per 100 miles,this is no joke,go to any KLR site,they are even siezing up before break in miles are on them,I wanted one real bad,this sucks for me.
