I gotta admit the ending is pretty sad. Just watched the finale a couple days ago. Joxer is gone, Xena is gone, and now that I just thought about it, Hercules and Iolus are really old at this point. Who knows what their status was at the end of Xena. I was thinking Gabrielle could probably form a trio with them but many years have passed as indicated in the one xena episode. The series ends in a very lonely fashion. No one is even on the ship but her. Good thing it's just a show lol
If only life was so sweet for us to remain with the ones we love after deatheven if noone else can see them if their presence is with us that might be so much more easy if we could see them talk to them but if wedid that we'd get called crazy.

I love Xena. I was always confused by this ending though. From the very beginning Gab preached that violence and revenge was not the answer. I always thought Xena needed to learn that from her travels with Gab. How to fight to protect, to help, and save the less fortunate; not to fight for revenge, greed, and hatred. To give meaning to her path of the warrior. Yet for the souls to to be free Xena had to stay dead, so they could be avenged.

5:05-5:27, when Gabrielle wields Xena's chakram and then catches it. If that was not symbolical of passing the torch, I don't know what is. It was sheer beauty watching her become her own warrior.

I miss this show to I used to watch it every time it came on they should make one with new adventures of Gabrielle as the main character following in Xenas footsteps.
The final scene always makes me kind of sad. Yes Xena will always be by Gabrielle's side, but in actuality, Gabrielle is alone...she has nobody. Joxer is gone, Hercules and Iolus are old, if not dead. All her original Amazon friends are gone... I guess she has Eve, but still, it makes me sad.
i don't remember which episode but i believe it was during the india arc when it was stated that she and gabby's souls or destiny's are intertwined and in the next life gabby is a warrior prince and xena is the mother of peace
yes the lady in the india arc said their souls were destined to walk the same path or essentially to be together forever. and there is the clone episode where they ride off in a taxi at the end. plus in soul possession we see them together again living in the 90's. and also xena didnt really leave. her spirit is still w gabrielle and u can probably be sure that she'll help her along the way. the only problem i have w this episode is the reasoning for xena having to stay dead.
Xena's dead is sad, but I think that It would be hard to end the serie without her dead, 'cause the fans would be begging more all the time. So Xena couIdn't have rets in peace. I haven't seen the final episode, but i'd like to...

Although She died, (WHICH I HATE) IF Xena had returned and went home with Gabrielle, and did NOT sacrifice herself, the end of the series would have been great anyway! What were they thinking!! :(
yeah i think they made a mistake by ending the series the way they did. they didnt have to kill her to end it. y does every tv producer think in order to end the show they have to kill the main character? they could have been different and well ended the way they began it w her and gabby riding off into the sunset. ha the way i wrote that made it sound really cheesy romantic.
@justanameyo yeah I feel the same way....I thought it was a mistake and a bit predictable to have Xena die yet again to end the series--and the reason they had her die was just so--stupid.....the whole "passing of the torch" thing to Gabby was dumb too because the show always made it a point that even Gab ended up walking the warrior path, it wasn't the exact same path as Xena--Gab was always her own person, not the "heir apparent" to Xena...Xena/Gab should've ended the show together
@miggy25 yeah i agree with u. the whole gabby taking xena's place thing seemed a little forced to me. and the reasoning behind why xena had to die was definitely stupid and again seemed a little forced to me. i mean wasnt the whole point of the show that xena had done some realy terrible things and was trying to make up for it even though she didnt really think she ever could.
As sad as it was that she died, it was fitting. A woman, a warrior, like Xena needs to go down with a fight, not in her bed at an old age. I missed the ending and found a clip on here, but seeing how she kept going even after being shot with those arrows was right. A fighter til the end, never giving up until its done. One on the things I loved about the show. Its her right to die like that, a sword in her hands.
yo i remeber me and my mother watching xena the warrior princess instead if the little mermaid or snow white. while other girls were braiding hair i was making my warrior armor out of cardboard and aluminum poil. lol. growing up this was my fairy tale and when i heard that she died, i cried my eyes out. i was so depressed. lol. this was an awesome show.

I love my sister, and my best friend more than anything, but we don't kiss each other on the lips. I love Xena. I was always confused by this ending though. From the very beginning Gab preached that violence and revenge was not the answer. I always thought Xena needed to learn that from her travels with Gab. How to fight to protect, to help, and save the less fortunate; not to fight for revenge, greed, and hatred. To give meaning to her path of the warrior. Yet for the souls to to be free Xena had to stay dead, so they could be avenged.

The final scene always makes me kind of sad. Yes Xena will always be by Gabrielle's side, but in actuality, Gabrielle is alone...she has nobody. Joxer is gone, Hercules and Iolus are old, if not dead. All her original Amazon friends are gone... I guess she has Eve, but still, it makes me sad.

i don't remember which episode but i believe it was during the india arc when it was stated that she and gabby's souls or destiny's are intertwined and in the next life gabby is a warrior prince and xena is the mother of peace

yes the lady in the india arc said their souls were destined to walk the same path or essentially to be together forever. and there is the clone episode where they ride off in a taxi at the end. plus in soul possession we see them together again living in the 90's. and also xena didnt really leave. her spirit is still w gabrielle and u can probably be sure that she'll help her along the way. the only problem i have w this episode is the reasoning for xena having to stay dead.

Although She died, (WHICH I HATE) IF Xena had returned and went home with Gabrielle, and did NOT sacrifice herself, the end of the series would have been great anyway! What were they thinking!! :(

yeah i think they made a mistake by ending the series the way they did. they didnt have to kill her to end it. y does every tv producer think in order to end the show they have to kill the main character? they could have been different and well ended the way they began it w her and gabby riding off into the sunset. ha the way i wrote that made it sound really cheesy romantic.

@justanameyo yeah I feel the same way....I thought it was a mistake and a bit predictable to have Xena die yet again to end the series--and the reason they had her die was just so--stupid.....the whole "passing of the torch" thing to Gabby was dumb too because the show always made it a point that even Gab ended up walking the warrior path, it wasn't the exact same path as Xena--Gab was always her own person, not the "heir apparent" to Xena...Xena/Gab should've ended the show together

As sad as it was that she died, it was fitting. A woman, a warrior, like Xena needs to go down with a fight, not in her bed at an old age. I missed the ending and found a clip on here, but seeing how she kept going even after being shot with those arrows was right. A fighter til the end, never giving up until its done. One on the things I loved about the show. Its her right to die like that, a sword in her hands.

yo i remeber me and my mother watching xena the warrior princess instead if the little mermaid or snow white. while other girls were braiding hair i was making my warrior armor out of cardboard and aluminum poil. lol. growing up this was my fairy tale and when i heard that she died, i cried my eyes out. i was so depressed. lol. this was an awesome show.
