@santiagosuarez92 We practice yoga in order to awaken to Self- and God-realization. It can be useful to live to be older and wiser in order to fulfill our purposes and experience complete liberation of consciousness. We are immortal spiritual beings, not confined to a physical body or material incarnation. This year Mr. Davis celebrates his 80th year on the planet, and we are better for his time with us.

I have read Eugene's book entitled "As I knew him..." I recommend this to anyone. He speaks clearly and simply. At the end of the book there is a question and answer series. He answers each question really well (again with clarity). I wish there were more youtubes on his speeches, etc.

Mr. Davis' guru was given the name Paramahansa" by his guru, Sri Yukteswar. Hansa: Literally "swan," for the swan can separate milk from water, and the realized soul can perceive the Real behind the unreal and separate the consciousness of spirit from consciousness of matter. Hansa also means "I am [aham] He [sa]" in the sense of conscious identity with God.

Though I don't follow any specific spiritual system exclusively, I find the writings of Roy Eugene Davis to be some of the clearest, timely and practical spiritual guidance available today. Not only does his advice help deepen any spiritual practice, it's also advice that you can use in a real, down-to-earth kind of way.
