Government injecting cash into anything first must take that cash out of the economy, or borrow or print it. All of these tend to weaken the economy. So although there may be a short term benefit, it will be much worse in the long run.

Government stepping on private sector? the banks went to the Govt begging for help. If you were close to bankruptcy and went to the bank for help they would force you to jump through hoops and lay down collateral. That money includes sums for education, mass transit and infrastructure which is beneficial and will create jobs.

The remaining $4.5 trillion is the dubious amount.
