@Gmancrap I'm not sure how old/mature you are, but clearly you need a little better of an understanding of psychology. Clinical depression, ennui or melancholia doesn't distinguish based on income.
This isn't a philosophical movie. It's one of those movies that tries hold depth by having long panning shots of characters looking into the distance, out of a car or at the stars as soft, quirky music plays.
@Gmancrap Money can't make you happy or give you fulfillment, hate to break it to you. Why do you think the wealthiest nation in history (the US) is only getting more and more displeased and depressed? Money is the greatest source of unhappiness and discontentment in the world.
Well because we aren't the wealthiness nation in the world anymore. If you've picked up a paper that isn't from 1952 you would know we are in debt and the unemployment rate among our youth is quite high. However, you don't see artistic shots of a camera panning around me as I look out a window. I suck it up like any normal person would and deal with the cards I've been dealt.
What the scene shows is how lonely she is..
