Bill and Skeeb speak the truth. I had the privilege of seeing Mott The Hoople with Mick Ralphs/Verden Allen and with Ariel Bender/Morgan Fisher and both versions were incredibly lethal. There was something very 'muscular' about MTH. Not in a machismo way, but in spirit, that made them unique. They stumbled onto that 'something'. Once you'd seen them you could never forget them. There have been some very special bands over the years but Mott The Hoople were without a doubt the real thing.
