Oh my God, the only thing i could do was cry when i seen this video. Just the sweet tone of his mother's voice was extremely calm. But i knew she was being strong for him. I wish i could say i know how u feel but i cant. As a mother myself it was hard to watch jaylen go thru this. He is a strong handsome young man and i know God has got his back. I hope all is well.

Ok. I understand what you are trying to do, but seriously why would you put a video on youtube exposing your sons disease? That is so degrading to your son. You should definately take that into consideration!
@lovexxannmarie We put this video out on the web to EDUCATE people. Jaylen has Complex Tourette Syndrome, which is pretty rare. It is so other parents and kids can see they aren't alone. My son has tourette's syndrome also. He is 30 now and still has tics. He was placed on 3 medications when he was 8. I was so afraid of the meds. I prayed about it and just decided to try it. Yes there were some pretty bad side effects, but they were better than what he was going through with his tics. His weren't as bad as this little angel's; however he suffered so much. God bless you as his mother and him.

@MiaMccB He does not do it when he sleeps as the brain also goes to sleep. Neurons in his brain are misfiring and causing different parts of the body to move. When the tics are very bad (as they are in this video), sleep is hard to come for him, but once he is asleep, he sleeps well from being so exhausted and his body hurting. But the "tics" (the involuntary movements) wax and wane. Sometimes they aren't so severe, but most of th time they are. He has them everyday all day long.
what can be done about this? Is there meds or therapie available for the people who suffer from this? your son is an example of courage for not geting anoyed or emotional when he cannot control himself. my prayers are with you.
His case seems pretty severe. We've tried Clonidine but still have tics and it doesn't really make it easier to sleep at night. I wish there was a cure! Thanks for sharing! Update us!!

I am the mom of a 5-year-old with TS and I can relate to everything you are going through. It is such a roller coaster ride! One moment he is tic free, and the next he is having full-body tics and asking, "Why this is happening to me?". We are given these children as GIFTS and I believe we have a higher purpose in life. I could only watch so much because I was crying. I can relate to him so much it's incredible. I have a tic just like that except I make bird noises. I hope he knows how incredibly lucky he is to have you and to know that he has TS. I didn't know until I was almost 13. It was hard during the years that none of us knew what was "wrong" with me. I had Tourettes my whole life since i was 5. I struggled through school and got picked on alot. My son is almost 3 and i havent gave him any vaccines yet. I thought the ones I had in the 70s brought on my Tourettes. Did your son have vaccines. ??? Im very curious. It might have nothing to do with it.
its really good he has a nice family that supports him. a positive of this syndrome could be the exercise that comes out of it lol this video taught me a lot about the syndrome!

One moment he is tic free, and the next he is having full-body tics and asking, "Why this is happening to me?". We are given these children as GIFTS and I believe we have a higher purpose in life. These are reasons why, I'm training to become a astronaut someday I want to journey to other planets and find medical break throughs for children such as him. I know your a great mom and if you had it your way you would switch places, but there is a light of hope throughout the country and there are people who care. God bless you and your son =]

Its sad as a parent when you see your child suffer, and theres nothing you can do to stop or help it!!! Its a feeling of hoplessness!
But a person has to always be thanksful that the child is alive and what we could lose!! or what could be worse..Bless you on showing what you go through with your little boy on a daily basis!!

Does he take any medication for it? im just curious what medication you have tried and what has been sucessful. I am a TS suferrer myself but nowhere near as bad as Jaylen has. Dont let them bullys get to you Jaylen!!!! :)

I could only watch so much because I was crying. I can relate to him so much it's incredible. I have a tic just like that except I make bird noises. I hope he knows how incredibly lucky he is to have you and to know that he has TS. I didn't know until I was almost 13. It was hard during the years that none of us knew what was "wrong" with me. I wish the best for all of you.

what a great kid. Lots of love, when we try to hold it, other parts of your body move. You get sore and tired fast. But tourettes has a lot of good points.

I had Tourettes my whole life since i was 5. I struggled through school and got picked on alot. My son is almost 3 and i havent gave him any vaccines yet. I thought the ones I had in the 70s brought on my Tourettes. Did your son have vaccines. ??? Im very curious. It might have nothing to do with it.
