@binzsta21 Pollution isn't just dust or particles in the air, those of what you think of are a small part of what contributes to pollution. Large part involves chemicals which are gases that are emitted that react with gases in the atmosphere. These can't be removed by filtration. For instance, smog is created from sunlight reacting with volatile chemicals in the air such as nitrogen dioxide.
Besides building electric car, China is now also the world largest producer of electric bicycle. If you visist any part of China townships, you can see many of these running on the roads and neighbourhood housing estates.
It's popularity has now spread over to many South East Asian countries. It is extremely friendly to use and comfortable to ride on and it is very affordable at $650/- complete with battery charger.
fuck, cars run by electricity was invented so long ago. USA 'was' the superpower for so long and the gov't just didn't want their people to switch over because the country will lose so much money. No one is going to use gasoline anymore. That's the reason why they're still at war in the middle east. To look after the 'oil'.
@Polyfusia I am not scared shitless, every single time somebody kick Americans' butt, the Americans somehow come back and out-do the other guy. British, Spanish, Japanese, Germans, Russians...they all went down.
not everyone in the BYD company believe that BYD will become number 1 in china. the female marketing manager was holding the handle all the time during the entire BYD car journey. haha

that guy christian basset is an idiot. if 10 pct of chinese cars were electric it would have massive impact and much more than any other major country.
@juliandeathgod We got hybrids already. Also, any vehicle sold in US must be tested according to a high safety and pollution standards. Don't just look at one aspect and think we are beaten.
@juliandeathgod We have tesla, totally electric sports car that claim to go 250miles on full charge. But here is the point, going electric is not necessary the most sound solution, the question is where is the electricity come from. It can be coming from a very polluting power station, then goes through inefficient electric grid and power converters. Hybrid is the most economical and easiest step toward green.
@userkc2008 Yes u right the electricity could come from a very polluting power station. Well let's just hope the three gorges dam in China can work properly. did u know that china is planning to build more and more dam to generate electricity ?? Well at least it's a good sign to reduce pollution in china. What about USA ??
@userkc2008 i know that , my point is this is a step in the right direction for china, they may be more inclined to change their energy sources because of this project once they see the benefits
Why wont they just build a big air filter and suck up all the pollution.
