doesn't it suck that modern baghdad is a warzone islamic nazi nation ran by terrorists. if iraq was like this and if they had lots of belly dancers (women of course) and lots of christians (living peacefully) then i would move there
I wept when I saw this was posted! I remember watching this when I was a little girl in the early 1960s, along with my brothers. Thank you SO MUCH for bringing back one of the few happy memories I have of my childhood <3
I remember seeing this movie when it first came out in 1961 I was 8 years old at the time. I tried for years to find it on DVD to no avail. I finally found a copy on VHS at the L.A. County Library. Thanks very much for posting this, brings back a lot of happy memories!!!
Is the source DVD quality from this movie fair, good, or excellent? This is one of my childhood movie favorites. Anyway, thanks for the gift of sharing. Great movie!
I need to know the title of a movie I think some of you here might know, which is also a classic. My memory limits my description of it but here it is: It's some horse ridding nations battling in the desert, and one of the nation is actually an alien race (maybe stranded on Earth, perhaps dying), there's also romance element (I think the woman is some alien queen), my memory is very vague, and prone to errors...please help me, if anyone knows what I'm talking about...THANKS!!!
THe real Thief of Bagdad classic was the Conrad Veidt and Sabu movie done in 1940. Ronald Coleman did a great 1940's movie using a similar theme.
THis movie always cracked me up because I saw it 1/2 dozen times when the kids were young and home for a Holiday. It was like old "King-Kong" played on NYC TV every Thanksgiving.
The dialogue is so hokey compared to today's writing. Also, in the beginning to appeal to the crowd and keep them listening, it's : Hey folks-- free bagels for anyone !
Wow! Wasn't the 60's something. They don't make movies like this anymore. Not in Italy, where this one was made, nor in the good old U.S. of A. Which I regret.
Thanks for uploading this. I saw it on television in a severely edited version, to fit into its time slot, and so they could cram more commercials in. None of which I can remember.
I remember watching this at a day camp as a little kid before I even knew who Steve Reeves was. Still an awesome throwback film.

I remember watching this great classic when I was 7yrs old.
I have been a Steve Reeves fan ever since, and have watched all of his movies.
I was wondering why he decided not to continue his Hercules character after only doing 2 movies as Hercules.

The under water scene ended his bodybuilding career. He torn a major muscle while doing the stunt.

You may purchase the whole DVD from Amazon.com. There are three versions. One from 1934, 1940 (the most classic), and 1961. I just ordered mine.
