  • I would have never guessed that the Leps would do this!

  • Lovely piece of work. Immaculate.

  • I'm an ELO fan by nature, been that way since 1979. This cover of 10538 Overture, written by Jeff Lynne, is a very good cover from Def Leppard. Joe Elliot's vocals are wonderful; of course I'm assuming it's Joe Elliot singing the lead. Either way, good job boys from England! Fantastic job from ELO to Def Leppard! Faithful as ever with everything about the Song! Love it!!!!

  • Totally Friggin AWESOME !

    Thanks for Postin!!

  • Def Leppard could have gone in the same direction as ELO or as a classic rock band, instead of being stuck in the category as "hair band" or headbangers. great cover!

  • One of the best covers ever!

  • Like Jeff,The Leps are huge fans of The Beatles,so anything that's Beatles-Related was adored by them (Like Badfinger's "No Matter What")..A wonderful tune!

  • Bar none, the best cover of an ELO song! Great job DL...thanks for the post 80s!

  • SHUT UP!?! Def Leppard!!! Totally rad! Nice divergence from what you might expect from them. Completely owned it, too.

  • Not bad at all.

  • Great cover of a great song. I learnt to play the guitar intro of this song.

  • This is unbeleivable - SUPERB :-)

  • so glad they decided to cover this and not paul weller's changing man :)

  • They really did a Excellent job covering this, The YEAH Album has quite a few really stellar covers, They do an excellent Space Oddity and some Sweet.

  • Yes a very good cover indeed - its off an album of covers they did. Seen both bands live - what goes around comes around!

  • Remember me HELP! of the Beatles cover

  • I admit I expected the worst, but that's a well impressive cover. Well done that band.

  • a wonderful tribute to a great band amazing cover not as good as the original of course but you could tell they really liked the original and didnt just think we could do better than that

  • The parts of the song they did, they did pretty good, but the last 2-3 minutes of wild music is my favorite part of the song. 3 out of 5 stars I guess.

  • really like this and at 3.44 just love that tone so fluid really fits in

  • This is part of a great album. Turns out that Lep are big fans of ELO and its predecessor band, The Move.

  • This is the best ever ELO cover i have heard, simply great

  • @ELONut I totally agree!!

  • I had this album, sadly when I got a new computer I could not find the CD to copy it over : ( so thanks for posting this : >

  • they are so cool, and considering this is fairly recent, i think Joe still sounds really good for his age. Does anyone else think he doesn't look nearly as untrustworthy now? ;) Def Leppard rox!!

  • @3impersonators

Mik Kaminski never played a off key in his life.

  • @wcllana I wasn't insulting him or anything, don't get me wrong. I just think the real early ELO had a rather thick, slightly discordant sound (certain songs always remind me of the Jaws music). They are my absolute favorite band. I've seen the '78 Wembly version of "Roll Over Beethoven", and I know how good Kaminski is. :-)

  • @3impersonators You're thinking of Battle Of Marston Moor, right?

  • @MsBkirk Mmm-hmm. I always skip that one. Just too...I don't know, out there, for me. But once ELO got going, man, they were the best!

  • Great cover.Thanks for video!

  • This just as good as the original.

  • Who is singing? I am not a huge DF fan, but that does not sound like Elliot. Also, what album is this on?

  • @nieckolai It is Joe Elliott singing. This is of o there 2006 cover album called "Yeah!"

  • Thanks. It's a great cover.

  • LOVED IT 10 ☆♫☆♫☆

  • Great dave 5*****

  • Thumbs up from a confirmed ELO NUT

This is a Fantastic and faithful cover

  • I think Jeff Lynne would be very plesed.

I think Cheap Trick cover of California Man was also great. But still Cheap Trick made also a cover of Down on the Bay I´d like to hear. It would be nice to hear. It is only as a live version.

  • That group knows brilliantly the spirit of the early Jeff Lynne art !

  • I am wel shooked, great version, but dont expect any different from Def Leppard, when did they do this and where can it be found?

  • @davekm43 They did it in 2006 on there "Yeah!" cover album

  • Thanks, I missed that album I have to look it up

  • You did a good job compiling all these various pictures. It looks like you did it with the Windows Movie Maker- if you did, maybe you can help me: How did you get the slide show effect (when the pictures slowly move like that)?

  • I'd love to hear this in high quality. Perhaps I'll pick up an album.

  • @TempusTransit It's on the "Yeah!" album

  • Mmmm when you listen to ELO's version some people forget how good it was for a 1971 song brilliant ,with the lack of technology, just raw rock ,hi respect to def leppard for this classic cover

  • Well, glad to see they've got enough class to recognize a good song when they hear it (I'm an ELO nut).

Is that Joe Elliott singing? Doesn't sound rough enough to be his voice.

  • Yep,Its Joe singing

  • This is a very worthy tribute to the first ELO Song, well done Def Leppard!

  • this version is so cool..and sung by Joe& Rick Savage..how cool is that...

  • my first cd

  • This is worthy of the original, it is different but it is still good - unlike most chart music that pollutes the air on radio, atleast Def Leppard honors this song instead of stealing varous parts off other songs like what these rappers and dance artists do

  • if y'all wanna hear another good cover of this song, try fruity buckfoot.

  • Playing it close to the original is out of respect to Jeff and Roy and the boys. Def Leppard are pros and real musicians. An homage

  • eh ELO did a much better job with this song. i love def leppard, but this sounds really overproduced and it dosent have the same charm as when ELO did it.

  • just so that everyone knows, this song is a cover of 10538 Overture by Electric Light Orchestra. But I have to agree, this version is better.

  • meh. missing the jiz of the original

  • this version is quite true to the original. A vastly underrated composition.

  • Ive always liked Def leppard, and ive always Loved ELO, i'm glad to see that this cover compliments the song, well done indeed =)

  • Is that still Rick Allen on drums? How the hell is he doing them drum rolls?

  • ELO's first hit, 1971. Who would have ever dreamed that it would be covered 37 years later by Def Leppard?! Truth is stranger than fiction.

  • Good, but it needs more cello =/

  • couldn't agree more

  • Fucking awesome bro

  • cool vid
