I just watched this movie last night and it was really good. I wish there was a website that told you which products were still made in USA and union made . This movie is a precursor the the current anti-union , union busting tactics going on in the country today - sickening ! It is disgusting that the guy who owns Nike has no issue w/ 14 yr old Indonesians working for dimes, and is too greedy to have a facotry in the USA !
I call it Economic Treason, Corporate Welfare, Fascism, Economic Royalty
Labels, (liberal, conservative) only serve to divide us, divided we are weak! It's time to stand togather on common ground and demand quality education & jobs, health care, opportunity, freedom, compassion, courage, and build faith in people, government & state.
You make excellent points there Michael... Bosses throw people out of work just to make a little more profit for themselves... We need more labor laws in this country giving workers more rights..
i like the way moore says he fights for the little guy and what not and isint for big corporations but yet he is pushing his book onto you making millions of your hard earned money.
Studs Terkel was a COMMIE Jew like so many growing up in the early 20th century whose parents escaped to the U.S. to work, live, and THRIVE yet their children sought to pollute our social/political system with their ethocentrism & socialism. He (and his type) should be despised.
i just read yesterday that Studs passed away last year on halloween he will be missed. I also read that harvey pekar of american splendor fame is doing a comic book version of 'working' due out in march
Terkel and Moore - these are a couple of Americans who will be remembered for the good they did. Compare them to President Cheyney and his kleptocratic ilk!
The real definition of "Terrorism" is getting looser and looser.
Terrorism is when someone commits an act of violence for a political cause. That's it and nothing else. There's no such thing as "Economic terrorism." That's bullshit.
But, here's the definition from the US Department of Defense: "the unlawful use of -- or threatened use of -- force or violence against individuals or property to coerce or intimidate governments or societies, often to achieve political, religious, or ideological objectives."
Now, apply that definition to all the acts of aggression from the US over the last 8 years...
There is certainly economic terrorism and it hasn't just become big recently. After the American Revolution the British Empire began making counterfeit US currency in order to lower the value of our economy and it was a devastating tactic that actually lead to the creation of the Secret Service. Economic terrorism can be a covert and very effective way of weaken your enemy. Just ask the Saudis, they have become very adept at manipulating the global economy to further their own gains.

Great interview. Mr. Turkel will be sorely missed. This video harkins back to a time when Michael Moore was likable and for the people. He is missed, too.

stormstereo, well stated
the state has perpetuated worse acts
and russia, as a state, is one of the worst state actors in history
which is why all these political-science terms originated there

8data, Absolutely agreed! Soviet/Russia has a LOT of bad history.

The Partisans were "Terrorists" to the Wehrmacht. Ask that sucker who used to head the U.N.
