  • Great video! Think this is the best I have found. I'll have my laptop right next to me for the whole process when I do mine!

  • I just cut my shaft and taped it, took one hour to add the SYE KIT.

  • thanks for posting this, very helpful. What's the song playing?

  • @13thScorpion "Whipping Post" by the Allman Brothers Band.

  • Thanks for posting this video, it is an immense help to me.

  • Awesome video, ty for taking the time to make it

  • is the shifter position adjustable on a jeep wrangler tj 2003? is so how is it done?

  • i just installed mine and everything went awesome, but for some reason when i put my T case in 4Wd or 4LO and take a sharp corner slowly my jeep jumps as if i am fanning the throttle. it jumps and lurks forward. if i do it with higher speeds nothing happens its fine...... any suggestions? mechanic says its my front diff, but it never has had a problem before i installled this kit

  • If youre on asphalt thats normal I also have a Detroit locker in the rear that makes a god awful noise when I turn at just the right speed in a parking lot its just hanging up

  • i have never had this problem before this kit wasnt installed. i just dont understand. when i crawl and turn sharp my jeep lurches forward violently.. does this hurt my jeep? could it be because my pinion angle is not perfect yet (adjustable rear upper control arms are on the way) also does anyone know how to adjust the shifter knob? now that i have to t case drop when i shift into 1st 3rd or 5th i hit my dront dash.

  • im sorry, it appears i cant spell. now that i have no t case drop when i shift into 1st 3rd or 5th it hits my front dash

  • The pinion angle will make it shake or vibrate down the road through the drive Trane. some times at a given speed that can shorten the u joints life. you want a degree or 2 of miss alignment so when the rear end twists up under load as for the shifter, if the knob is removal take it and the sleeve off so you dont melt the plastic. or do this out of sight you can also remove the shaft from the jeep. heat it so you can bend it down to clear the dashboard. I have a t-18 in my cj-5 and had to

  • i was told that it is adjustable without having to melt and beld the shifter? is that true? will taking the tcase bracket off put the gear knob back into the factory position?

  • Dont know I dont think it is. If the bracket lifts the t case. You also should keep in mind cause and effect is it easer to bind the shifter or remove the bracket and modify it?

  • i have this kit on the way, i have a rough country 4'' lift, the only thing i dont understand is at 9:27 and on. can someone hlpe me please. i dont have adjustable control arms so what would i do to change the pinion angle?

  • You'll have to add adjustable rear upper control arms to your lift kit in order to properly install the SYE. The pinion angle adjustment must be done. There are many reasonably-priced options for those, including JKS, Currie, Rokmen, Rubicon Express...

  • It took me 6 hours or so to do this, because I am slow and methodical. Some folks claim to do it much faster than that.

  • how long did this take? any different on a XJ?

  • i love you man

    god bless you good work

  • hey, what does the slip yoke elimiater do???????

  • when the jeep hits a bump, the axle comes up, forcing the drive shaft somewhere. The stock "slip yoke" will go in & out of the transfer case, relieving the stress on the drive shaft. when you get at too high of a lift (4 inches or higher usually) the angle is too great for the "slip yoke" to go in & out of the transfer case. This "slip yoke eliminator kit" ELIMINATES the slip yoke part on the transfer case and instead of going in & out of the transfer case, it goes in & out of the drive shaft.

  • it also eliminates alot of driveline vibration

  • Thanks for making this helpful video. You'll never know how many folks you have assisted!

  • Awesome vid!!! helped me alot! There is one plust to it being on my xj! i get to use my front DS

  • excellent video, great detail and picture quality

  • Glad to see i'm not the only one religious in the use of Loctite! Nice video, this will help with my SYE conversion on my TJ

  • Thanks for the video man - - -I am not installing a sye but i am replacing a busted chain - - big help!!!

  • Excellent video, great ending !!! LOL

  • i just did mine last week and it went well. i used the rugged ridge mega short. the only problem was it doesnt come with new snap rings and they get beat up coming out. it also has a nice magnetic speedo and its like 3 inches shorter than the other ones.

  • NICE!!!

glade to see the basics of what I up aginst this little bit when I get my SYE installed on my XJ

  • by the way, this works for Cherokees with NP 231 as well. But mine didnt have the harmonic balancer, nor the drain plugs in the same place. Also, dont think you need to actually bother with the front driveline -- it should work the same with it connected still.

  • As for the fron driveline...it's going to be hard to get the chain off to replace the main shaft if you cant pull the front shaft back a bit. That's why you have to disconnect the front driveshaft and remove the yoke.

  • This is perfect! I'm installing an AA SYE in a 92 Cherokee ... and 90% of the work was just trying to get the t-case out. I was nearly done until I tried to pull the top (2) bolts off holding it to the transmission. Seemed damn near impossible to even get a wrench in there let alone break it free.

Now that I saw this, I'm just leaving it in and doing the work. Saves hours of time!!

  • Installing my AA slip yolk in my Cherokee this week. Great video.

  • careful here guys, this doesn't work exactly with all model TJs. I have a 2000 and there are several differences to consider

  • You rock! Thanks for posting this.

  • yeah man, good vid

  • I think I can do it to now to thanks

  • flippin sweet i was unsure if i could actually do this instal myself, but now im pretty optomistic thanks a million

  • Awesome...you are my hero. I got my tera sye kit and decided to do the install myself. The instructions provided were good but it made things much easier to actually see everything done on another Jeep. THANK YOU SP MUCH!!!
