Man at 6ft if I was a size zero I would look like a skeleton, I'm happy I found a guy that loves me no matter what size I am. I did a program on loving yourself and your body, and I was surprised how many people had eating disorders because of the mentality people like that guy has. Women are supposed to have fat. It's for all the babies we had to pop out in ancient times. We needed (and still do) that fat for extra nutrition when there times when food was scarce. It's only unusual to be that thin because of the awful diets we have in industrialzed nations. A size zero isn't an unnatural size for a human with the diet we evolved to live on.

I'm very obese. I was always harassed by other children and was a loner. My highest weight was 520 lbs, about a year ago.
I was hardly able to leave the house anymore. I was in constant pain and started sweating, as soon as I stood up and walked a few steps. So I was no longer able to attend University and dropped out.
I had a sleeve gastrectomy on October 25, 2010, for health reasons. I'm down to 393 lbs now. I hope I can start taking classes again soon.
@RottenRroses Oh wow... my highest weight was 350lbs. I went through a lot of the crash diets and things like that, because all of my life I was told that I HAD to be thin. Now, currently through diet and exercise I'm now down to 250lbs. It took a long time to get there and I'm still struggling with it, but I'll reach my goal of a size 16.

I understand you point of view, I’m a big person as well, I understand that the aspect is not the primary issue in life.
I think it’s wonderful to accept yourself as you are, but for a better life I think we should strive to loose weight.
I’m already 50 years old and unfortunately I am having serious physical health problems all due to my overweight, I have a BMI of just under 35.

To be fair... what Keneth Tong is saying is unacceptable. Promotion of size zero as the only option is bullshit. That being said, it's also not good to be fat, not for aesthetic reasons, but for health reasons.

whilst i agree that kenneth tong was "promoting an extremely unhealthy and dangerous lifestyle", i don't see how what you are doing is any different. you are a) morbidly obese and b) a smoker. i personally don't have a problem with either of those things, it is your own personal choice and i fully respect that. however, by going on youtube in front of an impressionable audience, you seem to be implying that your lifestyle offers some sort of preferable alternative to what mr tong advocates.

Women are supposed to have fat. It's for all the babies we had to pop out in ancient times. We needed (and still do) that fat for extra nutrition when there times when food was scarce. We also need that fat to maintain a regular menstrual cycle. It's also that fat that makes female skin looks so smooth and pretty. :)
Those size 0 women would have been considered ugly long ago. They wouldn't have been seen as being healthy or fertile. So, yeah, fuck 'em.

While I've recently abandoned the fat pride movement because it seems to embrace crap science almost as much as the crazier side of the diet industry and some activists have taken to claiming anyone who promotes best health practices is a hateful bigot, Tong is still a moron. That size 0 thing pisses me off. My daughter has trouble keeping weight on. It is a real health concern for her. @mylovelydame21 Has anybody bothered to tell Mr tong that in order to be a size zero you pretty much HAVE to be medically classed as underweight unless you're an actual little person? when I see catwalk models I do not think of beauty, I think of wasting illness. Most shops here in the UK generally sell size 8 upwards these days, which (and I may be wrong,) Is the same as a US size 4/6.
Why? because those are viewed as the lowest healthy weights in women.

I'm very obese. I was always harassed by other children and was a loner. My highest weight was 520 lbs, about a year ago.
I was hardly able to leave the house anymore. I was in constant pain and started sweating, as soon as I stood up and walked a few steps. So I was no longer able to attend University and dropped out.
I had a sleeve gastrectomy on October 25, 2010, for health reasons. I'm down to 393 lbs now. I hope I can start taking classes again soon.

@RottenRroses Oh wow... my highest weight was 350lbs. I went through a lot of the crash diets and things like that, because all of my life I was told that I HAD to be thin. Now, currently through diet and exercise I'm now down to 250lbs. It took a long time to get there and I'm still struggling with it, but I'll reach my goal of a size 16.

Tbh, I google'd the guy and noticed him off big brother, and he's not exactly what I'd consider to be an 'alpha-male' but yeah.
It's sad people hate a certain trait for a couple of years, then move on and look back seeing it as bigotry and irrationality. If everyone were to just see a stigma for what it is then the cycle could stop. In a decade or two I feel everyone who had hatred to over-weight people would feel stupid. And I mean hatred, not concern(though the latter irritate me too).

I think the health risks by no means justify the stigma and hate. In general though I find people who are concerned with my health intolerable.
Fat's just a word. Bigots will see anyone who's over-weight as 'fat'. Then there's people who see people who they dislike as 'fat. Then there's people who see no one as 'fat'. The usage of the term seems to looely correlate with weight imo.
It made me smile when you talked about how your boyfriend didn't care :).

I'm known to drink way too much caffeine and when people are critical of it it just irritates me, because it really doesn't have any effect on them. It's not even possible for some women to be a size 0 without looking like death. The only woman I've ever known that was a size 0 naturally was from Vietnam. She had a tiny bone structure.
