@jasc1453 ok first of all, that is really quite offensive because I happen to be Armenian. Second of all, why would you watch this if YOU DON'T GIVE A DAMN?! third of all, the Armenians suffered greatly in the first world war because of... Well I'm a peaceful person so I'm not gonna flip out over nothing like SOMEONE just did. Don't bother to reply, just think about other people and how offended they may become over your dumb comment.
@Hayaserforeveer The explorer who founded Ararat was rather poetic in saying, 'And like the Ark, we will rest here' thus establishing the name Ararat and Mt Ararat
that is interesting. well if you wish to know the history of Mt. Ararat, it was named by ancient Aryan proto-Armenians and the patriarch of Armenians: is Hayk Nahapet. who was great-great-grandson of Noah thru his son Yapet (Japet): father of Indo-Euro people.
so it was Noah, his son Yapet, then his son Gomer, then his son Togarmah (or Tiras: debatable), then Hayk, then his son Armenak, and down the royal bloodline of Armenian kingdomship
People that were released from J-ward on paroll were told to stay in Ararat for 6 months to see if they have changed or not...
I remember when i was young my dad was working in town and i was at home in the country about a 10 mins drive out of ararat and he said to me on the radio *we had a CFS radio* (Country Fire Service) He told me to Lock all the doors and shut the windows because someone escaped the ARADALE mental institution that my aunty was working at, and my best friend Hugh was living
I used to live in Ararat, some of my cousins still do.
Its not as good as this video shows allthough the J-ward prison was always fun for partys and to see at night (you always get a little creeped out) Last time i was there was when i was really young but i still dont like the place, i used to love it there until i went back, the people there have changed a bit but there are soem pretty wierd people hanging around.
Well Mark, if I ever do make it to Australia, instead of heading to Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane...first I'll head straight to Ararat. Looks like a terrific community.
One more thing: God bless, Thomas Wills for giving the world ''Aussie Rules Football''. Man, I love that game.
Yeah, nice work. The locals did a great job, but if I had written songs that have been covered by Powderfinger and featured in the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games I would at least consider myself a bit of a celebrity, even if Neil doesn't... : )

The town was named after a nearby hill called "Mount Ararat" after the biblical mount because an explorer, in the 1840s, "like the ark rested there".
