I still lke and trust my old Smiths more ,but wanted the airweight version to carry in summer months in light clothing . Thanks for explaining .

Im gutting my springfield loaded and filling it with ed brown / wilson combat / egw/ harrison machined parts only.

Mimber (Kimber) is the manufacturer that has the most MIM parts in a 1911. The problem with guns with cast or mim parts is they wont last as long as machined parts. For people that shoot their guns 100 rounds a year is fine but for someone that shoots 10000 rounds a year is not .MIM parts break easier.
Good information, I am so tired or reading on the net about everyone worrying about the MIM. Why would a Gun Manufacturing put out a weapon that was going to fail, as it would be marketplace suicide. A great book if you don't have it yet is a gun digest book call 1911 the first 100 years by Patrick Sweeney, is the best on 1911's I have ever read. Keep up the good work.
I agree the Remington R1 is a nice gun but today's Remington is not the Remington Rand of WWII just like today's Springfield Armory is not the same as the original.

There very reliable and accurate its as simply as load point and shot and you hit your target every time with no jams. A pit bull killed my cousin's chewowa recently. his dog went under one of his neighbors fence and into their yard. I don't know why you would say Sig Sauer's sights. Because Sig doesn't make sights, mags, lights, or grips. That's all out sourced by other well know companys like trijicon, mecgar, surefire, etc...They just put Sig's name on it and charge you double. I don't agree with it, but that's how business is done.

To be honest the ONLY shitty 1911's I've heard of are some of the Firestorms made by Llama in Spain but other than that I think every other 1911 is made well however there's obviously much higher detailed ones but I love my Armscor and it works beautifully and it's fully loaded so I'm happy.

God look at that eye candy. I was looking into 1911's [I first fell in love with them back in FACE OFF, if you have seen that movie, the dual gold 1911's with the black grip, gold dragon art grip, and gold metal used by castor troy] - However I found out that it was made by springfield armory, and it would cost me 4500 for one of them X.X since its a full custom. I can always dream haha.

Nice lookin dogs dude. Its funny how some people look at certain breeds and suspect the worst. Just goes to show how disinformation about dogs is a paradigm problem. In actuality its not uncommon at all for the smaller "pocket rat" breeds to have more behavioral issues than the larger breeds. Its not the breed thats the problem its the person behind the dog. Nice info on the MIM parts!

The Kimber MIM parts are the hammer, sear, firing pin stop, slide stop, grip safety, thumb safety, disconnecter, mag release, sights, swartz safety parts, and a few other small parts. The slide and frame are forged. Dan Wesson 1911s use no MIM parts.

(sale price) in 2003 I payed 4 my Eclipse CLE II tht Kimber only produced 279 of... Maybe some 1 can reserch on the amount of MIM an cast prts are used in world clss Hi end $150,000 PLUS!! luxery & sports cars of the world?
