Owain is an actual old-English name, and, given the archaic way Cyan talks, I wasn't terribly surprised when his son had a name like that.

ah I never knew that actually, but I had my suspicions to be sure.  Cyan always gave me that "Ye Olde English" feel which is kinda why it annoyed me that his Sword Techs were named to Japanese Samurai moves "Bushido" ya know?

I know what you mean, that probably means that, in the Japanese version, he probably still had a feudal-era accent, and therefore, they translated it to old English just to show that he talks in an old way.

Cayenne's wife and child were *supposed* to be Mina and Shaun, according to some fan sources. BTW, it appears that they couldn't fit "Cayenne" into the namespace, so our loyal samurai friend became "Cyan" in every translation since.

There's one point in the bonus bestiary where Square EA tried to transcribe the Japanese and got "Kaien"
