Love the different shots but hate the music during the first 7 minutes! It's even better after 7:00 because there's no music - just proper train sounds!
I really liked the variety of shots used!. Various take off's, speed shots , camera on the ground looking up at a passing train shots etc, nice nice :)
I am curious as to how you caught all these trains tho, do you have a schedule or something similar?
Thanks :-) It's quite a few years worth of shots. Most of them were caught by going out and waiting, then following, the trains. Towards the end of shooting I bought a scanner and had a rough timetable which made things a bit easier.
Best approach though is just to take the weekend off and sit next to the track. There's bound to be something roar past within an hour or two!
Only hitch is that you are actually trespassing if your on the land owned by the railways, which in reality is now owned by us the taxpayer, yet it'll be trespassing anyhow :(
That's true, can't remember the exact numbers but the corridor is about 10m wide so as long as you're outside this boundary you're fine. And of course roadsides are fine, as are any station buildings, car parks, over bridges, etc. So plenty of places you can take photos/video from without trespassing. Stay safe, keep off the tracks, wear bright clothing and you won't have any problems with the law.
Thanks! Yes pretty similar shape to US grain cars. They're made to the limit of our loading gauge which is why they're curved like that. Glad you enjoyed it, was fun to make.

Love GEs, these ones sound similar to QR 2600 class.

These videos are fantastic! Great effort.
Love the background music. I've tried finding 'Aspen' without any luck. Can you shine any more light on what it is, i.e artist and title, etc?
