what size is your board? always hard to tell with the wide lens wether its a long- or shortboard.. just got the GoPro HD and wandering where to put the sticker mount.. probably towards the nose facing me.. is it possible to turn the camera to the front as well then?

@DamnedBoardRider92 hey there, it is easy to place but not to remove. once it's on there, it's on there! but you can cut it down to just a small piece for the mount and it's solid and not very obtrusive. it's only about 2" square. Another way to do it is to take your board to your ding repair guy and have him install an FCS plug in the nose. the cameras come with an FCS tab that you can use to attach it. I've used both methods and both are good.

@hollybeck27 I was pretty excited about getting one of these cams, but once the novelty of the view wears off, the footage I've seen on you tube gets pretty boring.

It looks like you do some pretty slashing turns here, but coz the board and you are stationary, it's hard to tell whats going on ?? I thought I'd be getting one and using it every time i went surfing, but the footage would all be much the same? I'll stick to my wife shooting the full scene from a beach vantage point. It's way better?

the suction cup mount will work on a standup paddle board but not a surfboard. this is just using the sticker mount. good luck!

I use the sticker mount on a whitewater kayak - its been abused a lot and it never comes off. For peace of mind I have a second sticker mount and clip with a cord connecting the two.

I am about to order the hd hero and if i use the sticky pad on my shortboard and go out in like head high waves will it fall off?

no, it actually sticks on there really well. i even cut down the sticky pad because i didn't want the pad to be so large for when i wasnt using the camera and it still held no problem! I was pulling into overhead tubes and i buckled my board but the 2" x 3" sticky pad with HD camera was locked on solidly!

that was the first one. i have the HD one too and the quality is waaaaay better. what makes you think you need new software to edit the HD footage? I used the same software for both.

I have a computer that only has 8g left on the hard drive and i guess 40g if I remove the partition and 2g ram. The software I use is windows movie maker (not HD compatable) I know I need new software anyway but I worry with the HD and new software that my computer wont be able to handle it and that would defeat the purpose. If I could take low quality vid with the HD until I could update everything maybe it would work? Thanks for responding
