  • I have to admit that I agree. Everyone is looking for a magic ritual or a pill to be confident and not nervous. We all know that a piece of music sounds better when you have played it for a long time. That's the reason you feel calm when you are in a familiar situation. So when you play "new material" play it until you can't stand it anymore, that's when is ready for performance. Just don't leave it for the last minute.

  • Practice, practice, practice!!!! And have fun!!!!

    Thanks for the video!

  • Confirmation...been telling myself I need to start "Over-Practicing"! Thanx!

  • Thanks that is really good advice. I always thought that the key to my poor performance was not enough practice.

  • Sometimes it's the simplest advice that is the most important -- and hardest to remember! I remember your saying this during my days in your Rhythm Section/Vocal Ensemble lab, and it's a good refresher to hear it again now!

  • Great advice. Thank you. I use meditation as well.

  • Excellent, I agree. That advice goes a lonnng way ... gotta l♥ve this man! :-)

  • You say good stuff and play too. So many just try to learn to play but performance is the half of it left out.

  • Excellent advice Mr. Beasley, thank you.
