Meaning: Om represents the primordial first sound, the origin of all sounds, Gum represnts the letter G, bearing significance in its symbolic meaning, ganpataye is the lord of the ganas, namaha, is I worship u, lord!!
love this so much.....so beautiful....i'm looking to start following....can anyone please give me information/websites to follow through to get a thorough idea of this ?? thank you so much!
Beautiful chanting. I am very new to this but I would love to give it a go. Can you please tell me...should I look at the images of Lord Ganesh on the screen as I chant or should I close my eyes? Thankyou very much :)

Thank you for posting this video. Ganesha appeared to me in my meditation this evening and I found this as part of my search as to what this appearance means. Thank you and many blessings.
awesome This mantra invokes the Lord Ganesha to remove every impediment in your life and in your works. By constant meditation on this mantra, all obstacles and blocked energy in your physical and astral bodies are released.
Does anyone know of Dr Steven Greer and the Disclosure Project. He takes a group out to the desert and they meditate on Vedic and have mysterious orbs and lights manifest around them. Trying to fugure out what prayer they use....
I love gansehs and this mantra is very compelling to me for some reason thasnk you veyr much! I found this sound that brings you to a strangely deep meditative state within like 5-6 minutes: watch?v=2_a-Yh5FTaE , I just hoguth you huys would find it interesting :-)
The short version of the is the seed sound or "GUM" -like a pack of. Focus on that which you wish to seek help with and work with the seem sound. Try to do it as much as possible. Many take on a 40 day discipline with each Mantra.
what type of mala is best to use when chanting this mantra? as like to do Saraswati mantra you use a crystal mala is there any particular type of mantra to use when chanting this mantra?
Hace mucho tiempo soñe que Ganesh se levantaba se su posición sentada y me perseguia, y desde entonces adoro ver su imagen pero siempre temo verle a los ojos¿¿??
I have felt a stagnation in my life for a few years.I havent been able to figure out what it is.I was listening to this and breathing softly.I could feel energy moving in my back chakras from the solar plexus level all the way up to my skull....as well as a vague nausea in my stomach.I felt a need to move this way and that, and felt waves of heat in my body, and somewhat sweaty. This is a VERY strong mantra for me.I am impressed and in awe.I have never had a mantra affect my energy like this!!!wow
hi i would like to share some thing about lord ganesha he was created by parvathi devi. he is also called vigneshwara, ganapathi, gajandhran, and in tamil pillayar. this mantra om gam ganapatayae namaeh is very powerful mantra it has to be chanted 48 times in early morning.
do u know where i can find them???cause i need to dissolve the rest of the bad karma that i have and lord ganesha's mantras have helped me but i need the other ones too...namaste by the way do you have this mp3 too?
hi everyone, im new to eastern teachings and have been practicing self inquiry and studying Ramana Maharshi, whenever i hear people mention evil spirits i usually tune out,
also ive never heard Ramana talk about this, can anyone fill me in, thanks
allright Mantra, prayer, or anything similiar to that, manifests a great amount of whatever energy your calling on, to your daily life in what your praying to or for. while as if you decide to speak mantras without expectation, then you can use that as a transcendental technique while meditating uasually to transcend human consciousness alltogether
Thanks for putting more light on this mantra. I have been practicing this mantra for almost 6 years with red monga malla for 108 times every day. So i was just curious to know that if i was practicing the wrong mantra or the right one.
Your welcome Rishi, there are also differences between pronunciation of Vedic and Tantric mantras. Tantric mantras are said to be able to produce results more rapidly/instantaneously and are kept more secretive to not cause harm if misused. (e.g. Ganesh' Vedic bija/root is "Gam" and Tantric bija/root is "Gang")
Hi framboard, a rough translation: "Om Salutations and Prostrations to Lord Ganesha"
"Ganesha (the elephant-deity) is widely revered as the Remover of Obstacles and more generally as Lord of Beginnings and Lord of Obstacles." - Wiki
"In Hinduism, Ganesha refers to the "lord of the hosts," - and is one of the most well-known and venerated representations of God (Brahman)." -crystalinks
Thanks, Lila! I downloaded the mantra from your site, it's 10 minutes long according to RealPlayer on my computer. Would this be the 100-reps version?
Thank you very very much for these gems. But how i wish this was 108 times as is usually required in traditional chanting and not 100 times. But still, 100 or 1 or 5 or any number is fine as long the chant is from the heart in true devotion.
Thank you again. You are truly blessed.
Please if possible add Aum Hanumathye Namaha of Lord Hauman who banishes all fear and anxiety and instills faith and strength.
Thanks bharatsm, but even after speeding the audio some, i couldn't get 108 to fit under the 10 minutes youtube allows me.
I also read "In doing a practice of counting the number of repetitions of the mala, 100 are counted as completed. The remaining are said to cover errors or omissions. The 8 are also said to be an offering to God and Guru." swamijdotcom
Hi Lila. Nice video.Liked it very much. But i had read somewhere, the mantra should be Om Gung Ganapataye Namah, instead of Om Gam Ganapataye Namah. Gam means sorrow. Not sure though.
Hi Anonymous, there are different ways to write and pronounce the 2nd word (which is Ganesh's beeja/seed/root like "gan", "gam", "gung") but they all have the same meaning "sorrow/grief" as Ganesh is the dispeller of sorrow andobstacles. (:
Sometimes variations are due to different dialect pronunciations/scripts, like "Om Mani padme hum" in Sanskrit and "Om mani pehme hung" in Tibetan. They both lead to the blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion, Avalokiteshvara (Tibetan Chenrezig, Chinese Guanyin).
lovely trance-induced chanting, the pics were amazing really loved the colour. that chantings gonna be repeating in my head the whole day now...thank U. ! (:
to janaricious: that's interesting, i had no idea... what was the ancient chinese form of ganesh? as in, what did they use to call him?
i am very interested in learning more about the link between hindu deities and chinese deities...please share more knowledge with me! i'm willing to learn...
hey duhh, AUM GANG GANPATAYEH NAMAH is the very powerful mantra. one can get mentally strong by chanting this mantra. wat dou want to know about our lords and lordessess? jai maa shakti.god bless u.
hi lilasakura, had i been mistaken in thinking that the title of this video had previously read "108 repetitions" while now it reads "100 repetitions"?
I remember why I did 100 because youtube wouldn't let me upload beyond 10 minutes and after reading "In doing a practice of counting the number of repetitions of the mala, 100 are counted as completed. The remaining are said to cover errors or omissions. The 8 are also said to be an offering to God and Guru." swamijdotcom

hi lilasakura, had i been mistaken in thinking that the title of this video had previously read "108 repetitions" while now it reads "100 repetitions"?

I remember why I did 100 because youtube wouldn't let me upload beyond 10 minutes and after reading "In doing a practice of counting the number of repetitions of the mala, 100 are counted as completed. The remaining are said to cover errors or omissions. The 8 are also said to be an offering to God and Guru." swamijdotcom
