Your welcome Rishi, there are also differences between pronunciation of Vedic and Tantric mantras. Tantric mantras are said to be able to produce results more rapidly/instantaneously and are kept more secretive to not cause harm if misused. (e.g. Ganesh' Vedic bija/root is "Gam" and Tantric bija/root is "Gang")

Hi Anonymous, there are different ways to write and pronounce the 2nd word (which is Ganesh's beeja/seed/root like "gan", "gam", "gung") but they all have the same meaning "sorrow/grief" as Ganesh is the dispeller of sorrow andobstacles. (:

Sometimes variations are due to different dialect pronunciations/scripts, like "Om Mani padme hum" in Sanskrit and "Om mani pehme hung" in Tibetan. They both lead to the blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion, Avalokiteshvara (Tibetan Chenrezig, Chinese Guanyin).
