Does anyone remember the theme used by ESPN in the late 80s? I don't think I saw it in this collection of intros. I saw it on a game I recently watched between Auburn and Florida in 1989.

The CBS 1985-86 theme was first used for Super Bowl XVIII in January of 1984 as the theme from 1987 on was first used for Super Bowl XXI in January of 1987

too bad you don't have the Michigan Syracuse game from 1999 as that was on CBS and featured the Super Bowl 21 music they have used for all college football since 1987.

Has NBC had anything interesting with their Notre Dame intros. I don't remember anything special, which is a shame since they did have great NFL music from the 90's that's no longer used.

BTW, the ESPN theme listed as being used from 92-93 was used at least once in 1994. Searh "Rice Texas 94" and click on the first video result.

@dpinzow I have to agree with that. In fact, the current ESPN and ABC theme is nothing more than a revised version of that theme of 1994-1996 from ABC. ABC has been revising that theme for the past 10 years.

@Amaizenblue86 The last one in the edit, from the ESPN on ABC, is actually one of the many Anthony Dilorenzo themes from ABC sports. Usually for the BCS games. It's only used occasionally for a game that airs nationally on ABC.

The second to last one from ESPN, in my opinion, sucks.

Yeah usually you only hear it when it's a prime time game on ABC. It's great, best out of all of them in my opinion. And the ESPN one before it does suck.
