  • This GeauxTigers guy sounds like a prick who can't admit that his band is worse than TBDBITL (which it is). I'd like to see -any- member of LSU's marching band attend the last weeks of Summer Sessions, and then tell me that The Ohio State University Marching Band is unskilled, when they collapse from exhaustion.

  • GO GATORS! TIM TEBOW IS GOD!

  • those cheerleaders were on speed...those were the most ridiculous dances...i thought they were going to explode...ROLL TIDE

  • those cheerleaders suck at dancing nothing compared to lsu cheerleaders

  • Enjoy it why you can, nobody stays top dog forever.

  • TBDBITL!!

  • what exactly does geaux mean???

i mean im a buckeye and i have excepted defeat but what does that mean??

    GO BUCKS!

  • open your ears genious. The Ohio State Marching Band plays selections from a list of 10 songs. and sometimes more. Hang On Sloopy just happens to be the most played, due to its popularity w/fans. So before you come to a generalization next time, know your shit.

P.S - Most people I know, spell go not "geaux". There's nothing like Southern intellect. haha....

  • Best Damn band in the land!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yea, Ohio State's band is much better.

    It's really not even close.

  • Let me guess you did Script Ohio before OSU did as well right? Please! all I see from LSU is NECK..which all the teams in the SEC and South play. Its funny to watch a bunch of White boys trying to act ghetto and play NECK.

  • yawn....the river boat horn at a 3:50 is the most exciting part...

  • All I have to say about AN ohio state university band and football team...

    OVER RATED!

IHateOhioState that no nothing party school!

  • lsu did the patriotic tribute; not osu

  • actually both did. osu did heroes and legends... superheroes and armed forces

  • osu did a tribute, all the armed services were recognized... lsu played national emblem and a version of grand ol' flag

  • haha.. honestly .. i love when people argue over bands. it means what we do matters and we appreciate the support. script is a very difficult thing to perfect and physically taxing on a person after everything before it like a real game. bands make college football special!

  • look on you tube. l.s.u. for ohio state pre-game!! damn fast with the drum cadence and everything else. bcs was a show for the bands. regular football games are a jam session for osu bands. the drummers go into the very top of the horseshoe and jam for the people every home game. as for script ohio being slow, thats just the way it is. you cant jog or run and speel script ohio. it is an art and a privelage to spell that. good luck next year!!!

  • i wouldnt bash lsu. no need. BUT .. sudler trophys can only be won once. Therefore, you cant say anything about how long ago. Its a one and done. i didnt mean the music..was original persay.. but that the arrangements are. there is no show that is completely original. i mean.. even lsu's shows were not original. you do realize that this isnt our typical pregame right? and that our fight songs are actually faster than yours.

  • i thought it was so funny cause on TV the only showed LSU marching at half time yea yall suck plus yall chose of music is not good either and what are the cheerleaders doing

  • dont know what pregame/halftime show you were watching because i have Ohio States pregame and halftime show that i recorded off of tv so they were both on there

  • 04ian4, sorry that dump you took at halftime took a little longer than expected. OSU's band played first at halftime, they did an excellent job with a tribute to all branches of our armed forces.

  • Moreover, so what if osu won sudler 20 years ago. doug flutie won the heisman 20 years ago. wouldn't want him on the field. that 1987 band wasn't on the field. 2007s was. AS for the music being completely original, Robin Hood??? Robin Hood is not completely original. It's been around a while. look it up.

  • new arrangement, so technically it is original...besides that look at it this way, we won the sudler trohpy 20 years ago..it only took them 2 years to give it to us, it took you guys 19 years, osu proved themselves right away and we are still the same band today

  • Not trying to bash the band; just sticking up for ours. Don't dismiss us, either. You have no way of knowing how many the lsu band dept turns away; stick to discussing what you "know". Script Ohio is fun to watch, but the music is slow. LSUs pregame flies. Don't bash our music. Lot of tradition there, too.

  • Script Ohio is not a follow the leader in those terms. There are many more details. Our band turns away 200 plus each year. I know LSU doesnt. And your music.. not so hot. Both shows (pregame and halftime) were not of a top caliber band. I liked the spanish show, but dont bash the band. You have the better team, but the band distinction belongs to OSU.

  • seriously? slow and boring? are fight song is much faster than yours. i will guarantee u cant march our pregame. We won the Sudler trophy over 20 years ago. We are the best band in the best band conference(10 out of 11 bands won the sudler trophy). And no it wasnt your show. That music was completly original, considering half that music's rights werent out yet, you couldnt have.

  • The Tiger Marching Band limits its membership also--to 325. The entire band did not make the NCG. LSU auditions many students for the band, and LSU turns many away. As for accolades, they won the Sudler Trophy (the "heisman trophy of marching bands") and were named the best band in the sec. The songs tOSU band plays are so slow! They couldn't even do LSUs pregame. BTW, their halftime show was an LSU retread from at least a decade ago. I know; I marched it.

  • all i can say is march 180 bpm for 8-9 minutes with no breaks while playing, that is an ohio state pregame, march non-stop

  • the charts we completely original, they were put together by our graduate assistant, it was his first charting of a show, and he did it with our assistance, so i assure you it was original

  • Impressive, the Sudler Trophy...sounds familiar...oh yeah, we won it too, 20 years before you. As for our music being slow here is a normal pregame: Ramp Entrance-180, oppenent fight song=180, Move to Conversion Block=180. Script=144 for about 3:30, Tunnel block, 180, march south=180, form tunel=180, breather for the team to run through, expand to the Star Spangled Banner Block=180. 10 minutes and 5lbs of sweat later

  • As for our half time show, maybe you can ask a current LSU band member why they decided to change their show? I believe they were planning on playing something completely different then had to pull out all the stops when they found out they would be marching against TBDBITL.

  • As usual, Ohio State is missinformed. We changed our show because the fans requested something differnt after seeing our original travel show for the last couple games of the season. Even with learning a new show, we out performed you guys. It would have been downright embarrassing for you guys had we done the travel show we originally intended to. Our spanish show would have seriously blown you off the sidelines.

  • yea, and listing bpm's for pregame really doesn't impress me all that much. It still won't ever touch a performance of the LSU pregame salute.

  • I highly doubt your Spanish show would have blown us away...check out the videos from OSU vs Texas, that is one show that our band is known for and to this day people argue it was one of the best they have seen, even people who hate Ohio State love the show, plus isn't hard to have a spansih brass sound with woodwinds and kevlar snare heads?

  • ...So I just watched that show you mentioned, and the second song (the name escapes me at the moment) was in the spanish show we would have brought to the BCS had we not switched shows...its def a good one

  • give them hell! l.s.u.band must be jealous replying so much! we kick ass till the end! we will be back more then any other team in the next 3 years! watch and see!!!! go bucks!!!

  • I agree good show. Also see "OSU does HOLLYWOOD" they have a great sound and put on excellent shows. I think thats why we have so many haters!

  • Script Ohio is boring and slow. I can follow the leader too! Honestly I was really dissappointed with Ohio's band. Their halftime performance was "park and bark" and LSU's patriotic salute was WAY better.

  • OSU was park and bark? did you watch pregame, LSU's pregame was marching on the field playing a fight song, marching 15 yards, playing a 5 note cheer to each end of the stadium then pretty much marching off the field

  • were you even there? the only time we even stand still is during the drum intro to pregame, and for the alma mater and national anthem (in tiger stadium), and to do "first down" and the tiger spell out...seriously wanna call out our pregame? there's only like 10 ppl who even need to learn yours. the rest can just follow the leader = sheep. Its nothing but a glorified follow the leader.

  • it is actually not a follow the leader, you think you know everything about our pregame, you do not, script is not a follow the leader it is desgined to appear that way hence the name script but each person marching has their own set of counts. OSU only stops moving to the national anthem and the team entrance, thats it...

  • and yes i was there, i was on the field for pregame

  • all right band. doesn't even come close to living up to their hype. has their flaws, just like any band.

they don't even touch lsu's fanbase and support.

  • lol we own lsu's fanbase two years in a row and we still support them

  • ever been to an LSU home game?

  • Ever been to the Horse Shoe for a home game? Ever seen Script Ohio, the number one tradition in college sports history according to ESPN? how about this, how prestigious is it to be in The LSU band. THE Ohio State University Marching (dubbed The Best Damn Band In The Land for a reason) has 225 spots and twice as many people try out. The band cuts half the people who try out. LSU's band sounds great, ur lines...not so much.

  • what are the cheerleaders doing?? is that for real or r they kidding around?

  • haha yea they look pretty funny lmao

  • Okay fine, LSU did play better, that was obvious, but now crossing guard band? Lets put it this way, we had countless LSU fans comment us on how much they enjoyed our band.

  • The uniforms look like the Salvation Army.

  • yeah... be a retard and make fun of their uniforms: that only shows that you are a simple-minded imbecile that doesnt have an appreciation for a band that can play together and in tune...

  • Well..it just goes to show that you are simple minded because I NEVER said a word about how they play. I simply made a comment about their uniforms. GEEZ! Are we a little defensive after last night?

  • I am a buckeye fan and even I have to agree on that.

  • The uniforms are deeply rooted in military tradition: these are similar to the uniforms from over 125 years ago. The tradition behind this band is one of the main reasons this band is globally recognized as one of the best.

At least they don't look like clowns in fringe, capes, and sashes. I've had both uniforms, and I GREATLY prefer TBDBITL military uniforms any time.
