@GoodVsEvil1314 Well, look at it this way. You know how if you drop a bag of groceries from the air and then suddenly catch it before it hits the ground, the bag will probably tear from the bottom and all of your groceries will fall out?

Say Robotnik was the grocery bag, and the ledge of the window was something holding it. He begins to fall, but when he catches himself by his knees on the edge of the window, the sheer force of impact is enough to tear his body in two.
